This is a game I just recently started playing on Thanksgiving, but it seemed to be a favorite amongst my whole family. Basically, there is a judge who has a green card and the rest of the players have red cards. On the green card there is a word and on the red card there are things that could possibly describe the word on the green card. Apples to Apples is quick, easy, and not too competitive. It is really easy to play with younger kids and older people; it is a game that can have the whole table laughing.
This is a game you need hours to play but if your family stays the night, this is the perfect and competitive game to make your family members duel. Whoever gets the most property and has the most houses/hotels usually takes the win. Whenever you land on a spot that is owned by someone else you have to pay rent. As you put more buildings on your blocks, the rent gets higher. There are speed Monopoly games but even the traditional one is a great way to bond with your family.
This is a card game that is not difficult but can get very intense. So, you need a deck of regular playing cards to start. The dealer gives each person one card, including themselves. Next everyone looks at their card but can’t show anyone else. Good cards are 8-Queen, the ace is the lowest card to have. So, if you want to get rid of a low card you can swap it with the person next to you- that is why it’s called Pass the Trash. The only time that you can't give your card to the person next to you is if they have a king. They can deny your card because king is the highest. Now if you are the dealer you can switch with the deck if your card is too low but if the deck gives you a king, you can’t take it because the deck is basically rejecting you. At the end everyone shows their cards and whoever has the lowest card loses.
