Commutative Algebra Regional Expository Seminar
There has been a recent explosion in online research seminars for researchers on the job market to advertise their research, but there is a dearth of community seminars for graduate students to learn and survey classical results underpinning commutative algebra research. To fill this gap, the organization team below have come together to host a Commutative Algebra Regional Expository Seminar (CARES) to support each others' learning efforts among similar schools. As of Fall 2021, registration is open to anyone.
Talks at CARES should focus on expository or classical results, and avoid new research. We are also hoping to foster community among attendees, so we will have a hangout period after the talks to get to know one another. Talks take place Mondays at 5:00 PM on Zoom. The Zoom link and passcode will be sent to the registrants weekly. If you would like to register, you can fill out the Google form on the Registration page.
We are also collecting ideas for topics for speakers who want to talk but have trouble coming up with a topic. If you would like to submit a topic idea, you can add it to this Google form on the Topics page. If you would like to consult the topic list, contact an organizer to request access to the responses for the list.
