CareerOS is a career-management application operated by TheGApps (“CareerOS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the CareerOS Android application, package name com.careeros.app (the “App”), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information.

1. SCOPE

This Policy applies to the CareerOS Android application. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, stores, or services linked from the App, which operate under their own privacy policies.

CareerOS requires an account. Most career content is stored locally on your device. Eligible CareerOS Pro content may also be synchronized through cloud services.

2. INFORMATION WE PROCESS

Account information

When you create or access an account using email/password or Google sign-in, we may process your name, email address, profile image supplied by Google, account identifier, verification status, linked sign-in provider, and account security information. Authentication is provided through Firebase Authentication and Google sign-in services. CareerOS does not store your password or complete Google credentials in its local database.

Career and document information

Depending on the features you use, you may provide:

- Contact and professional profile information.

- Resumes, cover letters, career profiles, employment history, education, skills, projects, certifications, achievements, languages, references, and job descriptions.

- Job applications, interview dates, reminders, notes, and next actions.

- Portfolio projects, links, metrics, technologies, images, and attachments.

- Documents or photographs you deliberately select through Android’s system picker.

- Template, formatting, paper-size, color, and export preferences.

- PDF or DOCX files you choose to create or export.

Subscription information

CareerOS uses Google Play Billing and RevenueCat to provide and manage CareerOS Pro. They may process account and purchase identifiers, selected products, transaction dates, subscription status, renewals, cancellations, refunds, restorations, and related device or service information. CareerOS does not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

App activity and diagnostics

CareerOS uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature use, measure performance, and diagnose errors. These services may process screen and feature interactions, app-instance or device identifiers, App version, device and operating-system information, general region derived from network information, crash logs, performance information, and timestamps.

Our custom analytics events are not intended to contain resume or cover-letter text, contact details, profile photographs, employer names, job notes, portfolio content, document filenames, or exported documents.

Advertising information

Eligible free accounts may see advertisements provided through Google Mobile Ads, including AdMob. Google’s User Messaging Platform may be used to collect and store applicable advertising-consent choices.

Depending on your region, consent, settings, and the advertisement served, advertising providers may process IP address, general location derived from IP address, advertising or app identifiers, device information, ad impressions, clicks, interactions, consent choices, and information used for advertising measurement, frequency limits, security, and fraud prevention.

Advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized as permitted by applicable law and your choices. CareerOS does not intentionally provide your resumes, cover letters, career records, profile photographs, job notes, portfolio content, or exported documents to advertising providers.

Configuration and security information

CareerOS uses Firebase Remote Config and related Firebase services to provide App configuration, templates, updates, cloud features, and security. Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity help protect accounts and services from misuse. These services may process App and installation identifiers, IP address, App version, device information, integrity information, and request information.

3. LOCAL STORAGE, CLOUD SYNC, AND BACKUP

Career information may be stored in the App’s private storage on your device, including databases, preferences, cache files, and app-private images.

For free accounts, Firebase may store authentication information, a limited account profile, subscription or entitlement information, and Career AI credit or usage records. Free-account career documents are not uploaded for cloud synchronization, except for content you deliberately submit to Career AI.

For eligible Pro accounts, supported resumes, cover letters, career profiles, job applications, portfolio projects, and resume profile photographs may be synchronized using Firebase Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage. If Pro access ends, previously synchronized content may remain until you delete the content or your account, subject to applicable retention requirements.

If Android backup is enabled, eligible local App data may be included in a private backup associated with your Google Account. Backup handling is controlled by Android, your device manufacturer, and your Google Account settings.

When you export or share a PDF or DOCX file, the resulting copy is stored in the location or service you choose. It is then outside CareerOS’s private storage and is governed by that destination and your sharing choices.

4. CAREER AI AND RESUME IMPORT

CareerOS provides optional AI-assisted features such as resume extraction, professional-summary rewriting, skills improvement, and experience suggestions.

Career content is sent to AI services only when you deliberately request an applicable feature. Depending on the request, this may include resume text or a selected file, professional summaries, skills, target-role information, work-experience content, achievements, and limited supporting context.

CareerOS uses Supabase services and Google’s Gemini API to provide these features. These providers may process submitted content and related request, security, usage, and diagnostic information under their applicable terms and privacy practices. CareerOS may record the feature used, request status, Career AI credits, and limited operational information to provide and protect the service.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. Review it before use. CareerOS does not replace saved content with an AI result until you approve or save it.

When you import a supported resume, CareerOS may parse it on your device. Google ML Kit may be used for on-device text recognition. Temporary import files are stored in cache and removed after processing. Extracted information is saved only when you continue with or save the imported draft.

5. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to:

- Provide resume, cover-letter, career, portfolio, scoring, import, reminder, preview, and export features.

- Create and secure accounts and verify sign-in.

- Synchronize eligible Pro content.

- Provide Career AI and manage Career AI credits.

- Process and restore subscriptions.

- Provide templates, configuration, and updates.

- Display and measure advertisements.

- Analyze feature use and improve reliability.

- Detect crashes, fraud, misuse, and security threats.

- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

Resume, ATS, profile, and career scores are guidance only and do not guarantee interviews, employment, hiring outcomes, or compatibility with every recruitment system.

6. LEGAL BASES

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting CareerOS, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of users and legal rights. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed.

7. SERVICE PROVIDERS AND SHARING

CareerOS does not sell personal information for money.

Information may be processed by service providers that support the App, including:

- Google and Firebase services for authentication, cloud storage, analytics, diagnostics, configuration, integrity, sign-in, billing, advertising, consent, text recognition, and AI.

- Supabase for Career AI processing.

- RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management.

- Android and device services for backup, notifications, document selection, photo selection, and exported files.

We share only the information reasonably needed for these services and purposes. Advertising identifiers or related advertising activity may be treated as “sharing,” “sale,” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. Applicable choices may be available through the consent interface, Android settings, Google Account settings, or by contacting us.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, protect users or legal rights, or complete a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

8. PERMISSIONS AND DEVICE CAPABILITIES

CareerOS may use:

- Notifications for reminders you enable.

- Restart scheduling to restore enabled reminders after a restart or App update.

- Internet and network-state access for online features.

- Google Play Billing for subscriptions.

- Android document and photo pickers for files or images you choose and export destinations you select.

CareerOS does not request broad access to your photo library or document storage through these pickers. It does not currently request contacts, precise location, microphone, call-log, or SMS access.

9. RETENTION AND DELETION

Local career information remains on your device until you delete the relevant record, clear the App’s storage, replace the information, or uninstall the App.

Cloud-synchronized career information remains until you delete the content or your CareerOS account, subject to limited legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, backup, and operational retention requirements. Analytics, advertising, authentication, AI, purchase, and technical information may be retained according to our settings and the applicable provider’s practices.

You can delete supported records using the App’s controls and delete your CareerOS account from Settings. Account deletion may require a recent sign-in. Successful account deletion initiates deletion of the associated CareerOS cloud data and removes the applicable local CareerOS workspace.

Account deletion does not automatically remove files you previously exported or shared, files stored outside the App, information restored from an existing device backup, records that must be retained for legal or fraud-prevention purposes, or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

Account deletion outside the App

You may request account deletion by emailing gapps2911@gmail.com with the subject “CareerOS Account Deletion Request.” Where possible, send the request from the email address connected to your account. We may request reasonable information to verify account ownership. Do not send your password, complete resume, identity documents, or other confidential career records.

Deleting cloud account data does not remotely erase information stored only on your device. Delete the applicable records, clear CareerOS storage, or uninstall the App to remove local information.

10. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of eligible personal information; withdraw consent; opt out of applicable targeted advertising; or complain to a data-protection authority.

You may also choose whether to provide optional career information, import documents, add a photograph, use Career AI, enable reminders, use cloud features, or export and share files. Advertising and backup choices may also be available through Android, Google, or the consent interface.

Contact us to exercise an applicable privacy right. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify and respond to your request.

11. SECURITY

CareerOS uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including authenticated accounts, encrypted network connections supported by service providers, account-scoped access controls, integrity checks, Android app-private storage, and system file pickers.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and account, use a strong unique password, and review exported documents before sharing them.

12. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

CareerOS is a professional career-management service and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to use Career AI features or knowingly collect their personal information in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information.

13. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, processing is subject to applicable contractual protections, consent mechanisms, or other lawful transfer safeguards.

15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy when CareerOS features, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will update the effective date and publish the revised Policy at this location. We will provide additional notice when required by law.
