Card Bag (“the App”) is a tool designed to help you manage credit cards, transactions, and repayment reminders.
This privacy policy explains what data is handled, how it is used, and what choices you have, in a way that is aligned with Google Play’s requirements.
The App is developed as an offline, device‑only tool: we do not run any backend server for this App and do not upload your personal data to our servers.

1. Data We Handle
All data described below is stored only on your device unless explicitly stated otherwise.
1.1 Credit card & transaction data
- Card nicknames and basic card info (bank, network, last 4 digits, statement day, due day, grace period, limits, notes).
- Transaction records (which card, description, amount, category, date, notes).
- Sample/demo data that ships with the App.
Purpose:
To provide the core features of the App: card management, transaction tracking, and repayment overview.
1.2 Repayment reminders
- Reminder title, due time, optional related card, notes.
- Reminder state (completed / pending, whether a notification has already been shown).
Purpose:
To schedule and show local notifications to remind you about repayments.
1.3 Images / screenshots (optional)
When you attach images in the feedback page:
- Photos selected from your gallery.
- Photos taken with your camera at your request.
These images are stored locally on your device (e.g. app data or cache) and are not uploaded by the App.
Purpose:
To let you attach optional images when submitting feedback (for your own reference or to share manually via email if you choose).
1.4 Location data (optional)
If you tap “Get location” on the “Add Transaction” page, the App may:
- Request approximate location from the device (via the platform’s location services).
- Convert the coordinates into a human‑readable address (reverse geocoding).
- Store the resulting textual address together with that transaction.
The App does not continuously track your location; it only requests location on demand when you explicitly tap the button.
Purpose:
To record the place where a transaction occurred, for your own reference in the transaction list and detail pages.
1.5 App settings & preferences
- Local settings such as language, whether guides have been shown, and other UI preferences.
Purpose:
To remember your in‑app preferences and show guides only when needed.

2. Permissions and How We Use Them
The App may request the following permissions, depending on which features you use:
2.1 Camera
- Platform permissions: CAMERA
- Usage:
- Only when you choose “Take photo” in the feedback page.
- Used to capture images you attach to feedback.
- Not used for: background recording, video, or any form of continuous surveillance.
2.2 Photos / Media / Files
- Platform permissions:
- Android 13+: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
- Usage:
- To let you pick images from your gallery as attachments in feedback.
- Not used for: scanning your entire media library or uploading files without your action.
2.3 Location
- Platform permissions: ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
- Usage:
- Only when you explicitly tap “Get location” on the transaction form.
- Used to obtain the current location once, reverse‑geocode it into an address, and save that address text into the transaction.
- Not used for: background tracking, continuous location updates, or sharing with third parties.
2.4 Notifications
- Platform permissions: POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)
- Usage:
- To show scheduled local notifications for your repayment reminders.
- Not used for: advertising, marketing campaigns, or push messages from remote servers.
2.5 Internet
- Platform permissions: INTERNET
- Usage:
- To open external web links such as the privacy policy URL in a browser or in‑app WebView.
- Not used for: sending your personal data to our own servers.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s system settings. Some features might not work after revocation (e.g. taking photos, getting location, displaying notifications), but the App will continue to function for other features.

3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data only for the following purposes:
- Providing core functionality
- Managing cards, transactions, and repayment reminders.
- Showing summary information and sample data to help you get started.
- Optional convenience features
- Storing an address for transactions when you choose to record location.
- Allowing you to attach images to feedback.
- Sending local repayment notifications on your device.
We do not:
- Sell your data.
- Use your data for advertising or tracking.
- Share your data with third‑party advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Storage, Retention and Security
- All card, transaction, reminder, and feedback data is stored locally on your device, typically using secure OS‑provided storage (e.g. local files and key‑value storage such as SharedPreferences).
- We do not operate a backend for this App, and we do not automatically upload your personal data to any server we control.
- Data is retained on your device until:
- You use the in‑app “Clear Data / Clear Cache” feature, or
- You uninstall the App, or
- You manually delete or edit individual records (cards, transactions, reminders).
We rely on the underlying operating system’s sandboxing and security features to protect your data from other apps on the device.
However, please note that:
- If your device is rooted/jailbroken, or otherwise compromised, other apps or users might gain access to local data.
- If you back up your device (e.g. via system backup), your App data may be included in such backups according to your system settings.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not share your personal data with any third party for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
The App does include standard third‑party libraries (SDKs) such as:
- Flutter and Flutter plugins (e.g. for notifications, image picking, geolocation, WebView).
These libraries run locally on your device and are used only to implement the features described in this policy.
They do not receive your card, transaction, or reminder data from us for independent processing.

6. Children’s Privacy
This App is designed for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the App and has entered personal information, please contact us so we can help you remove such data from the device.

7. Your Choices and Controls
You have the following controls over your data:
- Manage cards, transactions, reminders
- You can add, edit, or delete cards, transactions, and reminders at any time within the App.
- Clear local data
- Use the in‑app “Clear Data / Clear Cache” function to remove all locally stored business data (cards, transactions, reminders) from the App’s storage on your device.
- Permissions
- You can revoke camera, photo, location, or notification permissions at any time through your device’s system settings.
- After revocation, related features (taking photos, picking images, getting location, showing notifications) may no longer function.
- Uninstalling the App
- You can uninstall the App at any time. This will remove App data stored on your device (subject to OS backup behavior).

8. International Use
The App may be downloaded and used in different countries/regions.
Regardless of where you use it, your data is stored only on your device unless you manually choose to send information (e.g. via email).
You are responsible for complying with the local laws where you use the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
- Changes in App functionality,
- Changes in applicable laws or regulations, or
- Improvements in our privacy practices.
When we update this policy, we will:
- Change the “Last updated” date at the top of this document, and
- Include the updated version in a future release of the App and/or update the public link where this policy is hosted.
Your continued use of the App after any changes will mean that you accept the revised policy.
