☆ The “right” time for your magic is exactly when you do it. ☆

• Astrology: You don't need to already know a lot about astrology for this course. (I don't know a TON about astrology -- I know a good deal, definitely more than the average non-Witchy person, but I have friends who are real experts.) This is not an astrology course! I will share some very basic astro info, so that you have some resources for your toolkit, but we are specifically not working with all the many layers of astrology and other magical timing that exist for this particular course.

• Magic & Spellcraft: You don't need to know a ton about magic for this course, but I am guessing that most people who are drawn to this, probably have a simple practice of your own to begin from. If you don't, we can chat about some things in the discord community! The videos will not teach basics of Witchcraft directly, but the rituals and practices will be such that you can follow along with what I'm inviting you to do, even if you haven't done it before. I can't guarantee you'll feel like you "get it" right away if you've never done it, but it should be accessible to a beginner to try! Everyone starts somewhere. You're totally free to ask questions in the community space -- that's why it's part of this!

• Awesome! Yeah, you definitely don't NEED to be a beginner to join us. If I'm teaching in a more beginner-accessible way than where you are in your practice, feel free to either try it the way I'm doing it because you're curious and open to try something new and different, or simply substitute your own tried and true practices the way you like to do them! You are your own spiritual authority, rooted in community (as we say in Reclaiming).

• I work with nine distinct Moon phases. Astronomy has different definitions than magic does, and what I see as two different phases, are often blended together when you look at a calendar: the Dark Moon, and the New Moon. I find it incredibly helpful magically (and for my life in general) to give these phases their own time, and work with them separately. To me, leaving out either one of these stages is a huge missed opportunity! We'll talk about the difference between them (and how their energies are actually completely different when you think about it) in part of this course.

• The videos are pre-recorded so you can watch them on your own time! I keep odd hours myself, and we don't all live in the same time zone, so meeting up in a live chat could be difficult to plan for, and could be a barrier to participation for many.

• Additionally, some people prefer to, or need to, communicate via text based chat, which will be the primary method for us in the private community space on Discord. Post something whenever you can, and people will get to it when they can. Conversations can be ongoing, and not dependent on schedules matching up!

• For those who truly just love to chat in real time, our Discord space does have the option for video/voice hangouts, if some of us happen to be able to be online at the same time and WANT to do that, but there are no live calls required for participation.

• Exactly, my friend. Exactly. Listen... I was a solitary practitioner for a long-ass time. I know that a lot of you are, too. Community is ridiculously important, all of the time but especially now. Magical community can make such a huge difference, and not everyone has access to it easily in their life. Online community can be such a gift.

• One of the things I've been doing for years is creating and holding space, creating and tending magical containers, and so on within my tradition of Reclaiming Witchcraft. I want to do that more for the rest of my online communities, who are not all Reclaiming Witches, but may still be longing for a magical container of community. I can't even begin to describe how important community has been for me (well, I could... I've done videos about it and I'm sure I'll do more lol), and it could be supportive for you, too.

• This course runs into the end of calendar year holiday season, as well, which can be a really difficult time for folks, especially if they don't have supportive community. A little grounding in magic can help ease the way through the holidays, too, for those who need it.

• I used to know a LOT of people who were resistant to any kind of group work. Maybe you are, too? You may have heard horror stories about how difficult it is to be in community with other human beings, and yeah -- we are humans and humans are complex. But a lot of groups also have really crappy community skills. We can talk at length about all the ways that a community could go wrong, and why. I've been working for about ten years now with a tradition full of people who actively build skills around working with people in groups. It doesn't mean shit never goes sideways. It does mean that we have better skills to know how to plan for it, deal with it when it does happen, process it, and do better the next time.

• This is a three month container. I would love to have active participation in the group chats during that time! It's entirely up to you whether you want to stay in touch with anyone else beyond that time. Maybe you don't think of yourself as a big "group person" but I think we can be in conversation for a few months and try it out, how about you?

• Remember, the videos are watch on your own time! So that part is still you and yourself in your space in your time.

• My ideal size for this group is 8-10 participants (plus myself).

The top of the scale is the full cost, and those who are able to offer that amount help to make it possible to provide partial aid to those who need to pay lower on the scale in order to participate. Think of it like a built-in partial scholarship. If more people are able to pay higher, that will enable me to offer spots to people who may need even more aid, below this scale.

• If you consider your financial situation to be stable,  you don't struggle for income, have expendable income, and this amount will not affect your resources much at all, the top of the scale is for you!

• If your finances are fairly stable, you have some expendable income, and could wiggle around some expenses to be able to afford this without causing distress to the rest of your needs, consider the middle area of the scale. If the amount feels like something you're willing to move things around for, and would not cause a financial hardship, you're in the right area.

• If the low end of the scale is impossible for you, and would cause significant hardship -- that is, in order to pay it, you would have to NOT pay rent, groceries, or other survival needs, that's when you'd reach out to me to have a conversation and see if we can work out another arrangement. If enough people have signed up higher on the scale, there may be more partial scholarship available to offer.

The sliding scale may also be helpful where currency conversion would make this difficult, and there is a note about that below.

I have friends in other countries! Sometimes the conversion makes things higher in your currency. I invite you to figure out what the number is that you're able to pay in your currency, and if the USD amount is within the scale, you're good! That said, if you can afford the top of the scale in USD, awesome, but consider the sliding scale to also be a help with conversion adjustments.
