PowerWash Simulator is a simulation video game developed by FuturLab and published by Square Enix Collective. Players take control of a power washing business and complete various jobs to earn money. Gameplay primarily revolves around using a power washer to clean dirt off of objects and buildings. The game was first made available in early access through Steam on 19 May 2021,[2] and was fully released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 14 July 2022.[3] Further ports for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, were for a 31 January 2023 release.[4] A standalone VR port titled PowerWash Simulator VR for Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro models was released on November 2, 2023.

PowerWash Simulator is a simulation game played in the first-person perspective. Set in the town of Muckingham, players take control of a small power washing business and take jobs for a variety of clients in different locations in the form of levels.[5] Players must remove dirt from various objects, ranging from residential houses to a Mars rover, to complete each level.[6] Successfully cleaning an object will grant the player money, which can then be used to upgrade their power washing tools.[7] These upgrades allow the player to customise their power washer to be more effective at certain ranges or in certain situations.[8] The player can also use additional tools, like a ladder which can reach different areas of a level.[2]

It's a fairly accurate representation of power washing, but heavily gamified. You could say it's very boring (and a bit weird) and you wouldn't really be wrong I suppose, but it is relaxing and satisfying and pleasant.

I don't quite know what makes it all so satisfying. Washing the crap off the benches in the playground and realising they were bright red and yellow underneath was a lovely moment. Cleaning that purple stegosaurus till it shone. Doing all the little fiddly bits on the monkey bars. Drawing a massive cock and balls in the middle of the playground and then washing it all off. It's all lovely. I live for the little "ding!" you get when a piece is all nice and shiny and clean.

I've been playing this solidly for most of the weekend and would say that saving money for the better washers is by far the best approach. The extended barrels are useful but mostly later on in the career where having more 'range' means less messing around with ladders and scaffold.

I first came across the game last year, when there was only a single demo level and limited washing equipment to work with. The title, which is now available for PC via Steam Early Access, has expanded to offer a lot more content to keep you occupied.

What is the motivation to spray virtual doghouses, motorcycles, and other everyday objects with a pressure washer? This question ran through my head as I played the everyday sim Power Wash Simulator VR on the Quest 2. This review's provocative headline doesn't refer to the quality of the app - the app is well-executed.

During the demo, it became clear that virtual washing could become dry in the long run. At least if, like me, you find simulations of everyday life a little boring. At least the controls worked very well and felt native to VR motion controllers.

Perhaps it was also due to the still-unfinished state of the game that I couldn't quite understand the enthusiasm of the other players. Instead of jumping right into Little Cities, presented next door, I probably should have secured a better spot in line for the VR car wash.

Don't get me wrong - in the real world, I sometimes get a cleaning bug myself. Especially when birds turn my parked car into a Splatoon map. But at least the cathartic trip to the self-service car wash results in an actual real vehicle instead of just a clean vehicle in the VR world.

TIP: Different equipment configurations (power washers, extensions, and nozzles) work better on the various types of dirt, and sometimes your best option is a soap nozzle and one of the cleaning liquids for a specific surface type.

If the word "simulator" in PowerWash Simulator puts you off, please don't let it. Where other simulators double down on the minutiae surrounding the thing you're meant to be doing, that they put you off the thing you're meant to be doing, PowerWash Sim understands that you just want to rid surfaces of grime in the most satisfying way possible. You do not need to prize open your powerwasher with a tri-wing screwdriver or manage your finances via a convoluted banking app or determine whether a kitchen sink delivers enough pressure. Instead, you wash things with power: you power wash. You wash, powerfully.

Career mode is the game's zero to hero story, with a plotline that gradually escalates until it erupts (I can't say anymore on this front, but it's very good stuff). The mode makes the perfect start for budding powerwashers, as it steers you through the mechanics with a variety of tasks that tie into the story itself. Your first job is to clean the muck off your new company van, as you can't be zipping around Muckingham in a grotty box can you? Then once it's in good nick, you arrive at gardens. Bungalows. Playgrounds. Deserts. You go from a simple box to more intricate spaces, with many different surfaces and shapes all in need of a deep clean.

Joy stems from how you make the game's spaces glisten, which encompasses many different things. Of course, the art of cutting away grime with different powerwasher attachments lies at its core. You're able to easily select the nozzles you'd like to work with, so the 40 degree one sprays wide, but lacks power to cut through the most stubborn, baked on grime. The 25 degree nozzle is my favourite, as it strikes a midground between coverage and strength. Different hoses let you tackle mud from a greater distance or improve close range punch. And there's nothing better than investing in some cans of cleaning fluid and watching muck disintegrate like strands of rotten pulled pork falling off the bone.

All of the nozzles are easily popped on using a radial menu, eliminating needless faff. A quick button press lies between you and customising your powerwasher, too. And aside from visual cues, progress bars let you know when you're nearing pristine. It's a slick operation.

There's joy in the feel of powerwashing too, where it becomes a meditative escape backed by the sounds of chirping birds and whoosh of water. Initially, I thought it would pair nicely with a podcast or a chat with friends, like a background activity I'd be half-invested in. After absorbing nothing from a podcast and sitting in silence while mates slung words, I found the game suited solace to a tee. In five minutes it unironically became... everything? I entered a zen state where I was relaxed and totally focused on getting the job done, both thinking strategically about what nozzle would hit those diagonals best and whether Juan Sheet could take me in a fist fight.

But issues with the game are small in comparison with the true satisfaction and serene spaces it provides. While not everyone will get on with its brand of manual labour, it's a simulator for the everyman. It's not overly complex, doesn't take itself too seriously, and still has plenty of depth for those who just want to hose down a bungalow.

Release the Pressure with PowerWash Simulator! Wash away your worries with the soothing sounds of high-pressure water. Fire up your power washer and blast away every speck of dirt and grime you can find, all with the simple satisfaction of power-washing to a sparkling finish.

From casual, clean freaks to players looking to get into the nitty-gritty, everyone can pick up and play to feel immersed. Absorb the relaxing atmosphere and stress-free pace as you strip dirt from patios, pavements, vehicles, and public parks. Get creative and make art. Your nozzles are your brushes; the neighbourhood is your canvas. Sit back, relax, and wash your worries down the drain.

For those looking for a little more pressure, beat your best scores in Challenge Mode! Fight grime in different scenarios; wash against the clock in Time Challenge or test your accuracy by using as little water as possible in Water Challenge.

As mentioned, i normally use the Elapsed time express vi only in all other exams, but am not familiar how to pause the elapsed time and continue back, as main requirement in carwash. Can you give me any hint how to pause the elapsed time vi, it really helps and save my time in actual exam.

I hope sometime there will be a jet wash effect in MSFS. In rainy/snowy conditions it would be awesome to see the power of the engines visualized in the form of a jet wash: rain particles blast away behind the aircraft during takeoff and during landing on the side/in front of the engine(s). Since we already have a particle based effect (contrails) I do hope this will make way into the sim as well

Square Enix has announced that one of the most iconic JRPGs of all time, Final Fantasy VII, will be crossing over with Power Wash Simulator. It's an absolutely wild pairing of two properties that almost reaches the same levels of incredulity as seeing Sephiroth announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. While there don't seem to be any Final Fantasy characters included in the crossover, there are plenty of memorable locations for players to clean.More specifically, the free update to Power Wash Simulator will feature five jobs focused on locations in Midgar that players visit throughout FFVII's story. The Midgar Special Pack will be released across all versions of Power Wash Simulator for free, giving players a chance to clean some iconic vehicles, setpieces, and even bosses from the game. It's certainly an interesting idea for a crossover, but the grim and industrial Midgar is probably one of the most appropriate Final Fantasy locations to send a professional power washer.RELATED: More Video Game Remakes Should Take the Final Fantasy VII Approach 006ab0faaa
