Use a parking kiosk if you don't want to use the ParkDSM mobile app. All kiosks are connected. Use any kiosk to pay for parking as long as you remember your six-digit number. 


IMPORTANT NOTE: You need the six-digit number on your stall marker to pay for parking. Without this number, you can't pay for your parking.

The City of Des Moines offers parking garages throughout the City. Below is a list of where the parking ramps are and the cost to park on each ramp. A $10 or $5 flat rate will be applied to City-owned garages during special events downtown. Signs at the entrance of each garage will have special event pricing available.

Payment on the new mobile app, ParkDSM, will accept major debit/credit cards and Google Pay. A one-time $0.25 transaction fee will be added to each parking session initiated. No fee will be charged for time extensions during parking sessions.

When using the kiosk, at the end of your transaction, you can have a text receipt sent to you by entering your 10-digit phone number. We do not offer paper receipts to save paper and eliminate machine maintenance.

Yes, you can pay for your parking at the time of your arrival. You can pay using the ParkDSM app or at a kiosk from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. The ParkDSM app and kiosk will not start charging time for parking until the designated time (9 a.m.). 


While parking is enforced during the designated times, we strongly encourage users NOT to prepay for a parking space. While it might seem convenient, there is no system to guarantee the parking space will be available upon your arrival. We suggest you pay for your space after you park your vehicle.

If the payment method, you are using is not accepting the space number, it is best to move to another space to avoid being ticketed.


NOTE: Regardless of how you choose to pay for parking, you will need to remember the six-digit number on the space marker. This number is the unique identifier for the space you parked in, and the only way to make sure you paid for your parking.

City parking ambassadors strive to ensure that free parking is readily available for everyone and not monopolized, that handicapped parking is accessible and never blocked or misused, and that the City of Pensacola is safe and welcoming to all visitors all the time, through the enforcement of parking laws and ordinances put into place by local, state and national government. Most residents are familiar with City of Pensacola Parking Management through parking in downtown Pensacola, but City Parking Ambassadors manage much more than just timed parking in the downtown area. Parking Ambassadors monitor and respond to citizen complaints throughout the city, including city parks and residential areas.

Sec. 11-2-24. Parking for certain uses prohibited. No person shall park a vehicle upon any street, right-of-way, vacant lot or parking lot for the principal purpose of: (1) Displaying such vehicle for sale; (2) Washing, greasing or repairing such vehicle, except repairs necessitated by an emergency; (3) Displaying advertising; (4) Selling merchandise from such vehicle except in a duly established marketplace or when so authorized or licensed under the ordinances of this municipality; or (5) Storage for more than 24 hours.

You can easily pay citations (parking tickets) and purchase parking permits for the City of Fort Lauderdale using our online Parking Portal. You can pay using Visa, MasterCard, and American Express (U.S. address required.)

City parking lots, garages, and on-street spaces have standard parking rates based on their location within one of the three zones throughout Fort Lauderdale. City of Fort Lauderdale residents may apply online for our Resident Parking Rate Program. This program is designed to provide a special rate for neighbors while parking in City parking lots, garages, and on-street spaces using Pay By Phone. The special rates do not apply to parking meters, payments by mail, or payments made in person.

City of Fort Lauderdale residents can quickly and easily apply for a Residential Beach Parking Permit using our online Parking Portal. Enjoy easier access to the beach and save on the cost of parking with an annual Residential Beach Parking Permit.

Meter Malfunctions

If you have experienced a meter that is not functioning properly, please call the number provided on the meter to report the problem so that Park Wilmington can repair it in a timely manner.

Non-Metered Time Limited Parking

Downtown patrons are required to move their vehicle to another block before the expiration of specified time restrictions, indicated by signs posted in applicable blocks.


No more coins! No longer will you have to hunt for the right change or run back to your car to top off time left on your parking meter. Instead, simply park your car, make one short phone call, then head for your destination. You will receive a text message reminder before your time expires. You may text or call back to extend your parking session from anywhere. Pay by Phone parking is convenient, easy, and safe.

Parkers with valid accessible parking license plates and/or hanging tags may park in off-street parking garages and surface lots for an unlimited time when paying the posted hourly rates. Or, may park for free at any on-street metered space for an unlimited time.tag_hash_108

There are locations on all streets where parking is prohibited and is enforceable without a sign. Exceptions to the law are when an operator of an emergency vehicle parks during an emergency or a law enforcement officer or other public employee is required to park in the prohibited locations in the performance of his or her duties.

Selected public streets in the Historic Downtown are designated as time-limited for non-permit holders. Properties on those streets and corners adjacent to qualifying streets are eligible to participate in the Residential Parking Permit Program

Fraudulent Use

It is unlawful for any person to display an unauthorized parking permit. Any person who violates the provisions of this subsection is subject to civil and criminal action and prosecution to the fullest extent as it relates to fraud or forgery per North Carolina General Statute and Wilmington City Code.

Immobilized Vehicles

Vehicles illegally parked within downtown that have three or more outstanding parking citations 90 days past due are subject to having an immobilization device (commonly referred to as a 'boot') attached to their vehicle.

Removing the Immobilization Device

Come to the Park Wilmington Office at 11 N. Second Street between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday to settle outstanding parking citations and pay the $50 booting fee. Vehicles not claimed within 24-hours of the boot are subject to towing.

Private lots

There are a number of private lots throughout Wilmington who enforce parking through towing. Non-consensual towing of a vehicle is a matter between the lot owner, the vehicle owner, and the tow operator. The city does not manage these lots.

Throughout the year, a number of private and public events are held downtown. The City manages four (4) parking decks and two (2) open air lots. Additionally there is also on-street metered parking, with a 2-hour time limit. The time limit is essential to ensure turnover of valuable on-street parking spaces for downtown visitors and businesses. Many other cities utilize time limits for this same reason. State Code 5 June 3, 1960, allows free parking for people with disabilities who have state-issued identification (either a placard or a handicap license plate) in metered or timed parking spaces. This includes Parking Meters, Garages, and Lots and only applies to City, County, and State-owned facilities. There are several garages and lots that are privately owned, and they do not offer free parking for people with disabilities.

When parking at a metered space please be sure your placard is visible. It should either hang from the rear view mirror or be placed on the dashboard. When leaving a garage to receive free parking, you will be asked to show your disabled placard or identification.

Charleston accepts disabled placards from other states. A disabled veteran license plate also qualifies for free parking. Please be aware that handicap placards or license plates do not allow parking in Commercial Loading Zones.
