Calling out all star gazers and astrophotography enthusiasts! IIST is thrilled to announce a "Capture the Moon" astrophotography competition, a celebration of Moon’s splendour through the lens. Unleash your creativity, showcase your lunar masterpiece, share your stunning moon shots with the world, and stand a chance to win prizes.
Open only for school and college students
Only one submission per contestant (multiple entries would result in disqualification)
RAW (unprocessed, straight off the camera) images will have to be submitted if asked by the judges
Judges decision on the winners will be final
Last Date for Submission: October 8, 2023
Results: Will be announced on this page in the third week of October.
Photograph submitted must have been captured between January 1, 2022 and October 8, 2023
Submitted file cannot be larger than 15 MB in size
File has to be of PNG or JPG format
Photograph can be a portrait of the Moon (zoom-in of Moon alone), or foreground landscapes with the Moon in the background
Photographs can be captured with any common camera device (DSLR, mobile phone camera, etc)
