About us:
We are a non-profit, one time event in Cabarrus County. We go to Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School and wanted to spend our last year doing something to help out people in need. Two events have been planned for this project, which you will be able to read about on our pages labelled "Event One Details" and "Event Two Details."
Last semester, we spent our time working on a project that focused on helping homeless people. We made over 200 hygiene kits to help the homeless people in and around Charlotte. It was an extremely successful event and we would love to see this event be just as successful!. We would love to see you help out our great cause by Volunteering your time, or even donating! Thank You!
Why we chose to start this:
Tarilyn Lamb-Palo: I have had several family members, and even friends of family be affected by cancer and other serious illnesses. I've seen and heard about the damage that it does to you not only physically, but mentally. Hair loss is one of the side effects from the treatments, which sometimes leaves those affected turning to hats and wigs, especially when it gets cold during the winter. I want to make sure that people who are going through this struggle feel cared for, even if its just by simply giving them a hat to wear.
Noopur Parikh: This project means the world to me because I get to positively affect lives of those who are in need of some positivity and love. Cancer has affected many people in my family, and I have seen and heard about the physical and mental struggle and damages that cancer does to an individual. One of the major side affects of cancer is hair loss which leads many people to turn to hats and wigs, especially during the the cold winter days. I want to let them know that they are cared for and loved even if it is just by giving one a hat. I believe that with a little kindness and love we can make people who are fighting for their lives feel strong and beautiful. I have always been told while growing up that kindness goes a long way!
