How do I activate my Capital One credit card on the app?

You can activate your Capital One credit card directly in the Capital One Mobile app by signing in, navigating to your profile settings, and entering the 3-digit security code from the back of your card. The process takes only a few minutes and ensures your card is ready for use immediately. 

Download and Open App

You need the Capital One Mobile app installed to activate your card.

• Download the app from the App Store or Google Play

• Open the app and sign in with your Capital One online banking credentials

• If you don’t have an account, enroll first through the app or website

Navigate to Profile

Activation is located under your account settings.

Tap Profile → Account & Feature Settings

• From the bottom menu, select Profile

• Go to Account & Feature Settings

Select Activate Credit Card

This option lets you activate your new or replacement card.

• Tap Activate Credit Card

• Choose the card you want to activate if multiple are listed

Enter Security Code

Verification ensures the card belongs to you.

• Enter the 3-digit CVV from the back of your card

• Confirm details like expiration date or last 4 digits if prompted

Complete Activation

Your card will be ready for use immediately after confirmation.

• Wait for the confirmation message

• Once activated, update recurring payments with your new card details
