If you experience repeated issues logging into the CAPI Application on your iPad, please contact your RFO first to help diagnose your issue. Then please try the troubleshooting steps below. If that fails then completely close the application, swipe closed, then try the below URLS for access.

Please try these general troubleshooting steps before contacting your CAPI (Point of Contact) POC:
1. Clear Preferences on the CAPI log in screen.
2. Clear History and Website Data under the Settings/SAFARI
3. Perform a hard reboot **
** Hard reboot instructions for iPads with and without the Home button
For iPads with Home Buttons: hold the power and home button simultaneously until a white apple shows on the screen.
For iPads without Home Buttons: Quickly press volume down, then quickly press volume up, then press and hold the hold the power until a white apple shows on the screen

Urgent! A new CAPI iPad mobile application icon will be pushed Thursday night, May 9, 2024. This push will begin at 8:00 pm EST that night. Please follow these guidelines:
Logout of CAPI by 8:00 pm EST on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Remain logged out of CAPI until 6:00 am EST, Friday morning, May 10, 2024.
Do not log into CAPI via the iPad or the URL during the push dates and times stated above!
The new CAPI applications contain these updates::
CAPI updates including June Area Updates
CAPI Call Pooler updates and enhancements
Enumerators should follow these instructions:
Fully charge your device by the push time and date stated above. We advise to leave your CAPI iPad on the charger during this push. This will ensure best results for the push to be received and downloaded successfully. An active cellular signal or connected WIFI is needed.
You may log back into CAPI after 6:00am EST, Friday, morning, May 10, 2024.
After the push, enumerators must do these important tasks:
1. Close all open Safari tabs, swipe Safari closed, then clear Safari website history under “Settings/Safari/Clear History and Website Data.
2. After opening the new downloaded CAPI Applications, be sure to tap “Clear Preferences” on the CAPI login screen before you login.
3. If you will be using the Production URL instead of the CAPI App you still must clear your History on your Chrome Browser before logging in. Please call your RFO for assistance with this if needed.
4. After logging in verify your version number is v24.05.09.
NOTE! We have seen the auto-push take up to a day or two to fully download. Please use the CAPI Production URL if your CAPI Mobile App version still shows an old version.

Apple recently released iPadOS 17.4.1. This update is now approved to run on your CAPI device. A good cellular connection is required to install this iPadOS update or an adequate Wi-Fi connection. Please fully read these steps before you begin! Run this this ASAP.
Login to your iPad. On the Home Screen:
Make sure you are logged out of CAPI.
Go to Settings/General/Software Update
Click Download and Install. If you have not upgraded to iPadOS 17 yet, click where it says "Upgrade to iPadOS 17".
If a message appears asking if you want to use cellular, click Continue; this option may take more time to complete your install.
WAIT for the update to begin to install. This update will take some time to complete. Please be patient! Do not login to CAPI while the update is processing.
Your iPad will begin the iPadOS download. A progress bar will show.
Click Install when prompted. Your iPad will eventually restart to the Apple logo with a progress bar. Wait for this process to completely finish. You may need to enter your passcode again after this step. If you see a prompt to change your passcode, you must change it. If you don't see the prompt, then you are good to go on your passcode.
Your iPad will return to your Home screen. You may or may not need to cycle through some "new features" screens. You can read through those or page through and return to the Home screen. If you don't see these, you are good to go.
Please Log back into CAPI after the iPadOS has completed to test CAPI login.
Lastly, with iPadOS 17.4.1, a new feature was added with this update that needs to be disabled. It is called the “Rapid Security Response.” To disable this feature, go to “Setting/General/Software Update/Automatic Updates. Once there tap the slider next to “System Responses & System Files” to turn it from green to gray. That will disable the features. Also, double check that “Download iPadOS Updates” is also disabled by taping the slider from green(on) to gray(off)

Urgent! A new CAPI iPad mobile application auto-push is scheduled to occur over the weekend of February 17, 2024 for all iPads. There are also additional NASS database upgrades being done at the same time, which will affect CAPI access. Please follow these guidelines:
Do not log into CAPI via the iPad or the URL during the date and times stated below:
Logout of CAPI by Friday, February 16, 2024 by 10:00pm EST.
Please remain logged out of CAPI until Monday morning, February, 19, 2024, 6:00am EST.
The new CAPI App contains these updates::

June Area updates

Urgent! A CAPI Application push is scheduled during the late overnight hours of Saturday, November 25, 2023, beginning at 12:00 am (midnight) EST. All enumerators should logout of CAPI by this time. Stay logged out until Monday morning! The new CAPI App contains these updates:
CAPI Call Pooler Application (Only the two Pilot Test Region enumerators can use this option)
A fix to regular CAPI help menu.
Enumerators should follow these instructions:

You may need to enter your passcode again after this step. If you see a prompt to change your passcode, you must change it. If you don't see the prompt, then you are good to go on your passcode.
Your iPad will return to your Home screen. You may or may not need to cycle through some "new features" screens. You can read through those or page through and return to the Home screen. If you don't see these, you are good to go.
Please Log back into CAPI after the iOS has completed to test CAPI login.
As an additional precaution to keep your iPad from automatically running future iOS updates, go to Settings/General/Software Update/Automatic Updates/Download iPadOS Updates/Turn this switch OFF (if button is not green then your switch is off).

This video is available for enumerators to view as an aide to prepare for the upcoming June Area CAPI Pilot Test. Your RFO will notify you if you are selected to participate in this pilot test of the new June Area Survey CAPI Instrument. They may provide additional training and instructions. Please follow their guidance on completing this project. All testing for this project will be done in the red colored CAPI training application only!
Important: Prior to logging in to CAPI Training to work on this project, go to Apps@work on your iPad and "Update" the red colored CAPI training application.

The iPad camera is now active for use on all CAPI devices. Enumerators must follow these guidelines when using the camera which include some restrictions, and weekly maintenance. Please review the attached document titled "Camera Usage Guidelines for CAPI Devices".

The Zoom app has been added to Apps @ Work. This is a cloud based platform for audio conferencing and webinars. Your RFO will contact you with further information if your region plans to utilize this application. Basic install and functionality instruction are available by clicking on Open Document.

NASS Enumerator iPads are being transitioned to a new MDM (Mobile Device Management) hosting platform. All enumerators will need to perform a few steps and enter in some basic information into their iPad to direct it to the new MDM platform. Enumerators will receive an email with detailed instructions. The MDM migration is set to take place on Saturday, October 12th. Please be sure to log out of CAPI Friday, October 11th by 11 PM and make sure your iPad is on and fully charged. Urgent! New CAPI application icons are scheduled to auto-push to your CAPI iPad during the overnight hours of Thursday, August 24, 2023, beginning at 9:00 PM EST. All enumerators should logout of CAPI by this date and time (if in either URL site or the mobile application icon). All active iPads configured on InTune will receive this push automatically.
This is an emergency push to fix a bug preventing you from seeing your assignments after login to the CAPI App Icon.
Enumerators should follow these instructions:
Log out of CAPI before 9 pm EST. You may log back into CAPI the next morning.
Enumerator (and stat test) devices should be fully charged by the push time and date stated above. A good practice is to leave the CAPI iPad on the charger on push night. This will ensure best results for the push to be received and downloaded successfully. An active cellular signal or connected WIFI is also needed.
Note that if you have been using the URL instead to log into CAPI, make sure to fully logout of the CAPI Production URL on Safari, then you can swipe Safari window closed, then clear Safari website history under “Settings/Safari”.
Morning of August 25th: Tap on the new downloaded CAPI App Icons. Be sure to tap “Clear Preferences” on the CAPI login screen before logging in.
The new version number for this CAPI application push is v23.08.24. The version is located in top right corner after logging into CAPI. If you do not have this version please contact your RFO!
Note: If your iPad was off during push night, you will need to power it on to receive the CAPI App push. This may take some time after you power it on. Please be patient while the new Icons fully download!
