 If you experience repeated issues logging into the CAPI Application on your iPad,  please contact your RFO first to help diagnose your issue.  Then please try the troubleshooting steps below.  If that fails then completely close the application, swipe closed, then try the below URLS for access. 

Please try these general troubleshooting steps before contacting your CAPI (Point of Contact) POC:

1.  Clear Preferences on the CAPI log in screen.

2. Clear History and Website Data under the Settings/SAFARI

3.  Perform a hard reboot **

05/7/2024

Urgent! A new CAPI iPad mobile application icon will be pushed Thursday night, May 9, 2024. This push will begin at 8:00 pm EST that night. Please follow these guidelines:


Logout of CAPI by 8:00 pm EST on Thursday, May 9, 2024.  

Remain logged out of CAPI until 6:00 am EST, Friday morning, May 10, 2024.


Do not log into CAPI via the iPad or the URL during the push dates and times stated above!


The new CAPI applications contain these updates::



Enumerators should follow these instructions: 

1. Close all open Safari tabs, swipe Safari closed, then clear Safari website history under “Settings/Safari/Clear History and Website Data.

2.  After opening the new downloaded CAPI Applications, be sure to tap “Clear Preferences” on the CAPI login screen before you login.

3.  If you will be using the Production URL instead of the CAPI App you still must clear your History on your Chrome Browser before logging in. Please call your RFO for assistance with this if needed.

4.  After logging in verify your version number is v24.05.09.

Urgent! A new CAPI iPad mobile application auto-push is scheduled to occur over the weekend of February 17, 2024 for all iPads.  There are also additional NASS database upgrades being done at the same time, which will affect CAPI access. Please follow these guidelines:

Apple recently released  iPadOS 16.6.  This update is now approved to run on your CAPI device.  A good cellular connection is required to install this iPadOS update or an adequate Wi-Fi connection.  Please fully read these steps before you begin!

With iPadOS 16.6, a new feature was added with this update that needs to be disabled. It is called the “Rapid Security Response.” To disable this feature, go to Settings/General/Software Update/Automatic Updates. Once there tap the slider next to “System Responses & System Files” to turn it from green to gray to disable this feature (if button is not green then your switch is off). 

Also, as an additional precaution to keep your iPad from automatically running future iPadOS updates, go to Settings/General/Software Update/Automatic Updates/Download iPadOS Updates/Turn this switch OFF (if button is not green then your switch is off).

Login to your iPad. On the Home Screen:

With iPadOS 16.5.1 (c), a new feature was added with this update that needs to be disabled. Alert! A new CAPI build (v23.05.25) was pushed the night of May 25th. Please verify that you are on the correct version before collecting data. If the new app build has not installed, please use the URL until the app installs. Please contact your CAPI POC if the app has not installed by the end of this weekend.

NOTICE: The cell phone consent 'terms and privacy policy' link is not working in CAPI, inside the address verification window.  Please contact your RFO if you have any questions.  They can answer any questions you may have about this new feature.  Here is a statement you may use instead:

This video is available for enumerators to view as an aide to prepare for the upcoming June Area CAPI Pilot Test.  Your RFO will notify you if you are selected to participate in this pilot test of the new June Area Survey CAPI Instrument.  They may provide additional training and instructions.  Please follow their guidance on completing this project.  All testing for this project will be done in the red colored CAPI training application only! 

Important: Prior to logging in to CAPI Training to work on this project, go to Apps@work on your iPad and "Update" the red colored CAPI training application.

The iPad camera is now active for use on all CAPI devices.  Enumerators must follow these guidelines when using the camera which include some restrictions, and weekly maintenance.  Please review the attached document titled "Camera Usage Guidelines for CAPI Devices".

The Zoom app has been added to Apps @ Work.  This is a cloud based platform for audio conferencing and webinars.  Your RFO will contact you with further information if your region plans to utilize this application.  Basic install and functionality instruction are available by clicking on Open Document.

To assist setting up the new MDM platform on your iPad device beginning on October 12th, please use the button to the right to open enumerator step by step MDM Migration Instructions.

10/7/2019

NASS Enumerator iPads are being transitioned to a new MDM (Mobile Device Management) hosting platform.  All enumerators will need to perform a few steps and enter in some basic information into their iPad to direct it to the new MDM platform.  Enumerators will receive an email with detailed instructions.   The MDM migration is set to take place on Saturday, October 12th.   Please be sure to log out of CAPI Friday, October 11th by 11 PM and make sure your iPad is on and fully charged.  Your Field Office POC (Point of Contact) may be providing you with additional instructions during this process.  To see the full project announcement, click the button below.
