The presenter will give a brief description of the Belgian CEBioS program, explain its institutional model within the BIOPOLS group at RBINS, and its capacity building modalities. Then its UNESCO-MAB project ‘EVAMAB’ will be presented, a project which explored the potential of valuing ecosystem services in Biosphere Reserves in four African countries (Benin, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania) while an outline will be given of its co-produced UNESCO manual (in press). Policy briefs and other information material will be provided. This session provides opportunities to meet colleagues, explore collaborations, and debate about capacity building, as well as the valuation of ecosystem services in Biosphere Reserves.
