Pamela Burton
Pamela Burton is a music education specialist with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, from which she was awarded the Superintendent’s Award of Teaching Excellence in 2011. Classroom music, choral conducting and accompanying are her passions, and she actively pursues these roles in Nova Scotia. She has taught classroom music and choir at John W. MacLeod Elementary School in Halifax for over twenty-five years and serves as Director of the Halifax Boys’ Honour Choir. In addition, Pamela thoroughly enjoys accompanying the Dartmouth Choral Society, the Cantatrice Ensemble Honour Choir, and the Halifax Youth Honour Choir. She has served on the national board of the Kodály Society of Canada and is currently an active board member for the Kodály Society of Nova Scotia, proudly promoting the Kodály concept of music education.
