Canon Mf240 Dw Printer Driver Download ##VERIFIED## 32 Bit

hi everyone, I was trying to print something with my canon printer mf 240. It was working at the beginning, and stopped after printing 2 pages, so I tried to delete & reinstall the printer. Then I realize I have to install a driver, I download it, but my laptop shows "Unable to communicate with the printer at this time." (printer is on & wifi setting is working). Is it the Mojave not support my printer anymore, or I need to install some other drivers, or what? I tried to look up from the community already, but didn't really solve my problems

On another new computer also running Windows 10 I have connected the same printer and installed the drivers from the Canon website (Their description of the drivers being [Windows 64bit] MF249dw/MF247dw/MF244dw MFDrivers (UFR II / PCL / FAX / ScanGear)). But the printing preferences on this computer are far more basic, missing several settings that I use regularly. (Second image below)

There are two methods I found to find and install the device drivers (one for the printer, and one for the scanner). I'll document the easiest one for Ubuntu users in the hopes that we can all learn something from this.

I have been looking around for what I need to get my printer up and running. My cups interface is working, and it sees the printer. So I am off to a great start. It asked for the PPD, so I went to Canon's website to get the official linux drivers. I downloaded them and opened the readme and it has my printer listed as a supported printer. See below:

No 4800, no 4770, no 4880.. etc. I have the most recent drivers from them (5.2.0), and I also have a previous version (5.0) and neither have what I am looking for. Normally I would just say "oh it's not supported. Typical linux." but they specifically mention it in the driver notes, and I downloaded the file specifically from the support site for this specific model printer.

I ran the file's (most recent one) install.sh on my server, and in the admin management area of CUPS, canon printers are now populated, but again, only the two MF series printers I mentioned above, the MF1127 and MF1238.
