I want to know how we can utilise the chat feature through web broswer. I'm not talking about the chat feature while you are in the meeting. I'm talking about the standalone chat feature with which you can chat with any of your zoom contacts.

Turns out that routing the request to enable deleting in meeting chats for our account to the support works. The support folks enabled the feature in our account and then the option to be able to delete the in-meeting chat appeared. Thanks

Similar to recording a meeting, there are several reasons why saving Zoom chats can be valuable. Whether you are an instructor, student, or employee of Alamo Colleges, saving Zoom chats in a meeting can serve the following purposes:

Toggle this setting on to automatically save public chat to everyone and your private chats for meetings you host. Automatically saving chats can help you more easily respond to questions or share information from the meeting chat in a follow-up email message.

You can save the chat by clicking (in the Zoom chat window) the "..." icon, then "Save Chat"; then you should see a link to "Show in Folder", which is not working for me today for some reason -- it turns out that (on Ubuntu 20.04) the files are saved (in .txt format) in ~/snap/zoom-client/[###]/Documents/Zoom/[meeting date, time, name]. For me the [###] part is 166 or 167 but I could not figure out what it meant so I thought it may be different for different people. (See also this.)

The popped-out chat window has an ellipses (...) on the right edge. Click on it to display a handful of options. Select "Merge To Meeting Window" and SHAZZAM, your chat window is returned to it's original home.image of return zoom chat window to main zoom display

Below are four primary reasons why video chats fatigue humans, according to the study. Readers are also invited to participate in a research study aimed at developing a Zoom Exhaustion & Fatigue Scale (ZEF) Scale.

Bailenson notes that in regular face-to-face interaction, nonverbal communication is quite natural and each of us naturally makes and interprets gestures and nonverbal cues subconsciously. But in video chats, we have to work harder to send and receive signals.

The Zoom application allows you to access a chat function that connects you easily with other members of the Hamilton community. You are able to create direct chats with anyone on campus, as well as group chat that are referred to as channels. These channels allow students and faculty to easily create private or public groups, send group chats, images, screen captures, or start up an instant group Zoom meeting.

But if a person with recording privileges records a meeting locally, on their computer, the chats that are saved include those that were sent publicly "as well as any private chat exchanges that the person recording participated in during the session."

Keep in mind that to get to the chat window and go through the steps to individually save it can take a long time when using keyboard commands or a screen reader. If the host ends the meeting prior to all users being able to save the chat, the users will no longer be able to access the chat at all (unless they were able to copy-paste it to another document prior to the end of the meeting). In the past, Zoom had allowed users to set their own versions of Zoom to save all chats, but recent security updates prevent that function. You should check the settings of your Zoom web interface prior to any meetings to ensure accessibility.

Starting in 2023, updates to the Zoom Chat have added some possible additional barriers for screen reader users. For example, chat now supports nested discussions and emoji reactions. Nested discussions are difficult to navigate with a keyboard, especially as the chat is continually updated with new comments on threads alerting as new. Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+down to nav between chats, and then you have to tab through the names, chat options, etc to get to the reply for that particular thread.

It can be difficult for a screen reader user to be active in the video conference while also using the chat. For some users, there have been reported problems with the audio cutting out from either the screen reader or the video chat when switching focus between the video and the chat window. When other users post material in the chat, a screen reader may not alert that new chats are available. Additionally, it can be difficult to copy-paste from the chat window when links are posted for anyone using a screen reader--users report needing to use several keyboard commands and work-arounds to the point that they can lose track of the actual conversation. Zoom is working on a fix for screen reader users to access URLs in chat. On some devices, such as tablets and chromebooks, there can be other errors unique to those devices due to memory or processing issues.

I have enabled and tested the zoom integration plugin to a wp site. I have tested the zoom meeting from different browser sessions. I noticed that the chat within the meeting does not work properly. Only the meeting host is able to send and see the messages.

Are you using join via browser by embed solution ( -embed-zoom-meeting-in-your-browser) ? If so, this might be an issue there as Zoom officially does not support iframe solutions and pretty much unsolvable at the moment.

And you can do that on Zoom. The video conferencing app allows you to create folders to organize your chats and channels. So, how do Zoom's chat folders work, and how can you get started on creating your folders? Let's find out.

Zoom makes it easier to organize your chats and channels. You can create folders to group them in a way that makes it easier to find what you're looking for. You can create folders according to projects, teams, departments, and more.

Zoom allows you to create up to 200 folders. In each one, you can add up to 50 items, like channels, and group and individual chats. You can also drag and drop folders and whatever's inside them for better organization.

Regardless of how you go about it, folders help you separate your chats, making it easier to manage them. Your folders are synced with your Zoom account, which means you'll be able to access them if you switch devices. You can create folders on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Find out how to use Zoom on Android.

Zoom offers a ton of features that make it easier to be productive and stay in touch. Folders are one such feature. Use them to separate work and personal matters, and to make it easier to navigate your chats.
