Just a question to the people that currently have an active Starlink system. Can you stream movies and watch netflix and other streaming services? This would be a new concept for us as we have never been able been able to do that or subscribe to any of those services.

I wouldn't get too excited expecting super download speeds once a ship switches over to Starlink. We were on the Diamond for the last few weeks cruising around Japan when they switched over to Starlink in the middle of our 17-day cruise. The download speeds ranged between 1-3 mbps after the transition but was adequate for posting photos to CC and other social media sites as well as for checking mail and accessing multi-layered websites. However, we didn't try streaming movies or using a VPN.

So, I recently swapped from NBN to Starlink (rural Australia, old house, much better speeds on the latter). However, I've realized it's preventing anyone from being able to access my server. I'm aware that the CGNAT is the problem, as is the IPv4 (as the non-nat IPv6 has not yet rolled out in Australia). Most of my friends and family are overseas, and watching movies together is our biggest way of staying in touch/connected, and I'm the one with all the movies. So, is there a fix for this, or should I just wash my hands of Starlink altogether and return to my dismal NBN speeds? I basically only use my internet for work and for movie watching, so I really need to make this work to even justify having Starlink.

I have a cabin in a remote area and starlink is available. I do not use it much from January to June, would I be able to put it on pause for that time and then continue after that? This is what I currently do with Dish. This is not considered mobile or RV, which I know you can.

Starlink is just like any other internet service, in that it can be used for internet streaming services to watch movies and shows. For local news channels, you would need an antenna, or to subscribe to a live TV service that supports your local channels.

"They show super low latency and download speeds greater than 100 [megabits] per second. That means our latency is low enough to play the fastest online video games and our download speeds are fast enough to stream multiple HD movies at once," Tice said.

I've watched enough war movies to start recognizing when the general or under-attack squad leader pulls out a satellite phone. It's like the communication device of last resort. In the jungle, wilderness, on a lonely desert island, or any number of cellular dead zones around the world, it's the only way to communicate with home base.

Most satellite phones, like the Iridium line popularized in innumerable action movies, are expensive (often costing well over $1,000). And they can be ungainly because they need a huge external antenna, one that will make your late 1990s-era feature phone antenna look quaint.

Hello, looking for assistance with troubleshooting my wifi issues. I have had starlink for almost a year and no issues until a few days ago. I have several iphones and ipads that continually drop wifi signal and will not reconnect or get message of "incorrect password" when attempting to connect back with internet. I have alexa devices and LAN connected devices that have no issues. I have reset the starlink router, reset network on iphone, restarted devices, "forgot network" and nothing seems to resolve the issue. I have determined it is an apple issue with starlink router. The odd thing is that sometimes the apple devices will randomly connect to the wifi, but will disconnect just as quickly. Has anyone experienced similar issues lately?

The older iPhone (6s) shows it's connected to the starlink site (checked in the Wifi Settings screen) as well as displays a strong signal, again in the Wifi Settings screen. At the same time, the signal indicators at the top of the iPhone screen (cellular strength and wifi), displays the ever spinning slinky.

I don't think it is a Device qty issue because we've had 15+ devices connected before and several of them streaming live movies, youtube, etc... with no issues. But normally we have 3 to 5 with light usage going, no problems.

Once again, we tested Starlink for several weeks in all kinds of weather and subjected it to typical Internet tasks, from streaming 4K movies and participating in Zoom conference calls to uploading and downloading voluminous videos.

Starlink will enable crew members on MOL-operated ships to access movies, television and video calls with family and friends back home, significantly improving their onboard communication experience and overall wellbeing. Starlink will also help enhance the digital transformation of maritime operations by enabling real-time information sharing between ships and shoreside support teams, improving operational efficiency, and providing support in case of onboard issues.

First, hook up your TV box to the TV via an HDMI cable. Then, make sure the TV box links to your Starlink WiFi network. Now you can use the remote control to watch whatever shows or movies interest you.

If you are one of those people who keenly rely on torrenting pirated movies, software, and other content from the dark depths of the web to enjoy, then Starlink is not for you. This broadband is stern about its policies, especially when it comes to the trend of downloading movies and shows from any third-party app. ff782bc1db
