I wanted to set them up before Xmas so I didn't have to on the day but I've been searching how to load 3rd party apps and struggled at every obstacle trying to get them downloaded and installed. This is how I managed to get this up and running.

Like the title says, I just got google play up and running on my new HD 10, but I'm worried about connecting to my kindle library and having everything undone. Is it safe to use kindle after installing all the "android" stuff?

Can You Download Apps On Kindle Fire 7

Download File 🔥 https://tlniurl.com/2y3Ldc 🔥

In our Hello Fire app, the MainActivity.kt file is responsible for core logic and the layout specific to the app and is typical Kotlin for an Android activity. In the Empty Activity app template, this file is located in the app > java > com.example.hellofire folder.

I have a Kindle Fire 5th gen with an account for my kid on it. If you log into their account, the top line shows a list of most recently used apps under "Recent". Today I did a cleaning of poor apps from the Fire, uninstalling them from the entire device. However, they still show up under the Kid account in the Recent list. If you click on those icons it attempts to redownload and install the app. So my question is how to I remove the links from the Recent list so that my kid doesn't accidentally try to reinstall the apps? Long press on the icons only brings up options to Download or Add to Favorites and I can't find anything in the Settings, either on the kid or main account, to clear or reset the Recent list. Please help.... Thanks.

When I am not moderating this channel I am often dabbling in experimental and electronic music. I love circuit-bending and fiddling around with soft-synths and, because I am sadly not a wealthy man, I tend to steer clear from expensive workstations and synthesizers. To my great dismay I found that the Amazon store is sadly lacking in music-making apps. Luckily, the Android Marketplace has loads of them, though many appear to be incompatible with my device. (Though I've managed to get some working anyways despite what they report.)

The major problem being that, for the most part, the audio latency for Android is quite high (as high as 350 ms!) and there's no response from Google and it doesn't appear to be a very high priority for them either. This is unfortunate because audio apps on iOS are a major appeal factor for the iPad. Hopefully this changes with Android 4.0.

There are a whole slew of piano apps on the Amazon appstore. In my opinion, they are all pretty much worthless. Considering the Kindle Fire can only accept 2 touchpoints at the same time you'll be pretty much limited to playing Chopsticks and Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Other Amazon sound musical toys to note would be MusicGrid of which there seem to be a couple similar apps with the same name. The one I link to is free and basically simulates the absurdly expensive toy Tenori-on by Yamaha.

I have made a pretty good search for appropriate Kindle versions of well regarded Android media apps and finally settled on installing and using two different apps. One is called Avia, and the other is Bubble/UPnP and are free at the Kindle app store. I use both apps interchangeably for accessing and playing media files on my Kindle Fire HD tablets (mostly music and videos) from my WD NAS and other devices on my home network. Avia is a little simpler for first time users, and later graduate to Bubble. It is feature packed, which can make for more complexity and usefullness. Try them both,

BTW, Amazon once did have the MC app listed in the early days of the app, They removed it because WD has not updated thir Android version for Kindles for a long time. The issue rests with WD; there are many, many Kindle versions of popular apps and manufacturer apps in the Kindle Store (and WD is absent)!

@mike27oct,

While WD is partially at fault, the ultimate blame lies with Amazon for locking down the Fire tablets so pretty much only apps from the Amazon store are allowed to be installed on the Fire, and not the run of the mill Android apps from the Google Play store that can be installed on a whole host of other Android tablets and smartphones.

With cruising returning i bought a Amazon kindle fire HD 8 Plus. I was hoping to down load the Carnival Hub App to my new device. I can't seem to find the Hub App for the Kindle. There was a link back in 2016 for a kindle 7 but it no longer works. Anyone have the Carnival Hob App on their Kindle 8?

Amazon, like Apple, wants to keep you in their walled garden. Kindles are Android devices but crippled on purpose (like apple) and are unlike nearly every other android device. There is a reason they are so cheap but the good new is that you can side load 3rd party apps by jail-breaking just like you can on apple devices, only much much easier. The instructions above should work. Me, I'd send it back and get a Samsung tablet....lol. Good luck.

I have a Kindle HD Fire, 6th generation. One of the first things I did was jail-break it. I can use many third party apps.... but not all.

The Carnival app works fine, as does Celebrity app. The American Airlines app does not. So the bottom line is that it is somewhat hit and miss.

Older apps will still return null, and I haven't actually verified the API or whether installing the new Store and then upgrading an older app will set the installer. But installing a new app and checking /data/system/packages.xml indicates installer is correctly set.

cloudLibrary is currently not compatible with Kindle Paperwhites or the kindle e-ink device Apps. If you would like to read ebooks on your kindle e-ink device please contact Amazon Support and request that Amazon allow compatibility with cloudLibrary.

If you download Google play store on your fire tablet, you should be able to install any app from the play store on your tablet. There are many tutorials on YouTube, just select the one that works for your Fire Tablet 10 and follow the instructions. I have done this 6+ times with no issues when following instructions correctly.

Google play does not support soundcore for fire tablets.

I call bull $hit. Are you just saying it will work or did you actually try?

I checked both Google and Amazon app store neither offer soundcore for my Amazon fire HD 10. So keep to what you know bud.

To add a little extra confusion, I also have a 2010 or 2012 vintage kindle HDX that also refuses to allow me to install the Tablo app. It has other issues with battery life and I hardly use it anymore. But, it also will not find the Tablo app in the Amazon store and is also registered exactly like the other 2.

Educational apps are a great option for roadschooling, long car rides, and time spent in waiting rooms. We use educational apps and screen time as an incentive to get through challenging or boring lessons.

We love using screens as a resource in our homeschool. One of the many ways we do that is by using eductaionl apps on our Kindle Fire. I know screentime can have mixed opinions but for us we have found they can be great for long car rides, days when I am unable to teach for some reason, or as an incentive.

For the money, most Android tablets aren't very smart buys. At the high end, hardware is marred by less than stellar software offerings. (If you're going to spend $500 on a tablet, get an iPad.) At the low end, Amazon's Android-powered Fire tablets are hamstrung by the very limited Amazon Appstore, which doesn't include Google apps, among others.

On the Amazon Kindle Fire, how can I require that a pin number be entered for every purchase, whether it is in their appstore or in one of their games? If there isn't a global way to do this, is there a way to secure all methods of purchasing with a pin?

Coursera believes mobile is the future of education and evidently our learners do, too. In less then six months, about one million learners downloaded our apps for Android and iPhone, enrolled in courses over 800,000 times and watched nearly seven MILLION lecture videos!

You say they're not officially supported, but what if I don't have an iPad? What if I'm unable to buy an iPad? What if I don't have a real cell phone? What if I'm doing crafts for an income and the kindle is the only thing I have? So back to the original question - will it work with a Kindle Fire HD 8?

LHK: Did you buy the kindle? Does it work? I just added a response to the guy who responded to you. He didn't really answer your question. It may not be supported, but does it work? That's what I want to know. It's my only option if I want to sell at fairs etc. So if you bought the kindle fire HD 8, I'd really like to know. Thanks. 2351a5e196
