As a side note, the key to understanding a switch statement is to treat both the parameter and the case arguments as expressions. The mechanics of a switch is simply to match expressions or fall back on the default (or do nothing).

This is a variant of switch-range but with only one compare per case and therefore faster. The order of the case statement is important since the engine will test each case in source code order ECMAScript 2020 13.12.9

This is a variant of array-linear-switch but with a binary search.Unfortunately it is slower than the linear search. I don't know if it is my implementation or if the linear search is more optimized. It could also be that the keyspace is to small.

I own both but playing on 3ds feels more cozy than switch for me. That cute second screen, the way I look at maps, inventory...etc there just feels really good. Switch feels more mechanic. Like when I play on switch, it feels the same way as I play on my ps5 and pc. But 3ds feels different

A significantly improved kickstand is one of a few updates to this new Switch model, which sits at the top of a lineup of mobile gaming consoles that includes the Switch and the Switch Lite. It still has removable Joy-Con controllers, a dock that converts it from a handheld console to a TV-tethered rectangle, and it plays the same games. It's the priciest of the lot at $350, but if you don't yet have a Switch, the OLED is hands down the model to get. If you do already own one of Nintendo's mobile machines, then the question of whether to upgrade gets a little more complicated.

There are four main changes: a 7-inch OLED screen replaces the 6.2-inch LCD, there's more built-in storage, there's an Ethernet port in the dock, and there's (yes) an overhauled kickstand. The revised screen is fantastic, and I promise I'll get to it, but it's the kickstand that has me so ecstatic. Seriously, I had no idea a kickstand could be this exciting.

One unfortunate snag? When you dock the Switch OLED, the system doesn't immediately switch off of Wi-Fi. I had to manually force it to use the wired connection, which is annoying. That said, Wi-Fi speeds are surprisingly better. I regularly hit around 65/32 Mbps on the OLED and 30/29 Mbps on the original Switch.

That's pretty much exactly what happens here. Blacks that look washed out on the OG Switch are pitch dark on the OLED. It's evident just from the console's boot sequence, but you'll fall in love when playing titles with a lot of dark scenes like Metroid Dread. Colors look punchier, and everything feels more defined rather than flat. It makes games feel more atmospheric and true to their design. After gaming on an OLED, it's hard to revert back to an LCD.

You do get a larger screen though. The thick borders around the screen have been chiseled down, not unlike the recent makeover for the iPad Mini. The screen still outputs at 720p (1080p when docked), so you're getting a small decrease in pixel density. At normal viewing distances, I didn't find the OLED model more pixelated. Dread, Breath of the Wild, and Smash all still looked excellent.

The back has a lovely matte texture that feels like an eggshell, much nicer than the fingerprint-attracting smooth plastic on the original. Overall, the whole machine looks cleaner. It has fewer lines around the hardware, which gives it a refined aesthetic.

But that brings me to the elephant in the room. Even though it's been four years since the original Switch's release, you're not getting any performance improvements out of this new system. Worse yet, Nintendo says the Joy-Con controllers remain unchanged, so there's a chance you'll be susceptible to the notorious Joy-Con drift issues over time, where characters drift in one direction or another even if the player is not touching the joystick. It also doesn't help that there's the constant chatter of a purported 4K Switch with more powerful hardware in the works (even if Nintendo vehemently denies it).

I have a case where I am in need of more than 3output activation branches required for Case switch (At any point there is 1 branch that can be activated but there are more than 3 branches). How to overcome this challenge as existing case switch start node has only 3 out ports.

I've seen the sentiment here that PS4 games are less collectible than the Switch ones. Why is that? People mention that it's because the Switch is cartridge based, but tons of disc-based games are very rare nowadays, such as PS1 games or Sega Genesis ones.

The way I see it, I feel like it's a bit because there are more PS4 games than Switch ones, so less people even consider going for a full collection, where as Switch might seem more possible due to getting less games. Might also partly be because people tend to favour Nintendo consoles more due to being exposed to the Nintendo brand since childhood. Of course, there is also the portability factor which is a pretty legit advantage.

Either ways, I find it kinda strange considering there are a lot less PS4 copies being printed of for limited print games than Switch ones, so than being rarer feels like a bit of a false sentiment IMO. The way I see it, the PS4 games are playable on PS5 hassle-free, where as the Switch games will probably not be playable on the next Nintendo console, leading them to be harder to access.

I think the 3DS is better than the switch, don't get me wrong, the switch is a really cool console and idea but it doesn't do it for me.. the switch library seems.. dull, a lot of the switch seems dull to me. Take something like the Wii, or as this post says, the 3DS. It seems "Nintendo", the switch seems more like.. a regular handheld gaming system, it doesn't have that Nintendo touch to it. Okay, so it can switch, that's the gimmick... seems pretty boring and something you'd EXPECT on a lot of other consoles, not too Nintendo. The 3ds was a handheld that played 3D games on the go! It was new for its time so it was really cool! The Wii had simple but fun controls, a pretty great library (my opinion.) and again, the gimmick was new. I'm not saying it's good to have a crazy gimmick on every console or anything, but that cool-ness is lost on the switch. Overall, I just find the switch to have lost that Nintendo magic it once had.

Edit 2: also I hate how switch games are $60 a pop, 3ds game prices were alright.. this is terrible, no matter how much it costs, $120 for two games is outrageous. it'll get to the point where it'll be more than the console its self

I have a question which might be stupid but I am curious..I have a simple network:DSLMODEM (192.168.0.1) TL-SG108E (192.168.0.30) Laptop (192.168.0.54)There are some other devices on the switch and another switch (TL-SG105E) on another room connected directly to the TL-SG108E switch. All connections are with CAT6 cable.

Switches are amazingly good at switching. Their hardware is entirely designed to switch packets as quickly and efficiently as possible. Typical small switches, whether managed or unmanaged, have efficient hardware that switches packets at wire speed with minimal latency.

Sadly, they tend to be lousy ping responders. To respond to a ping, their puny CPU has to process the inbound ping, form a reply, send it out, and so on. All that takes a lot more time than their awesomely efficient switching engine takes to switch packets -- what it was specifically built to do at wire speed.

I have the approved and reccomended Motorola MBB8600 modem, works perfect with one computer. I tried connecting, one at a time, each of the following switches. TP-Link TL-SG1016D 16 port gigabit switch and D-Link DSS-16+ switch. One computer, first one connected to switch will connect. Any other computers connected to it will attempt to identify and connect but end up with "Unidentified network" Public Network in the Windows network and sharing center window. I assure you it is not the computers, I am a pro with them. I did though try all kinds of things, even reinstalling the network drivers on one computer just to be able to say I did all of that.

I already tried internet searching "Motorola MBB8600 modem Ethernet network", and similar, and found nothing helpfull. I have found during "xfinity Ethernet Network" searches that others post that they have just used basic unmannaged switches with no issues. I could not find any using my exact same models though. Exact same model should make no difference though.

That might be your problem. The modem's ethernet port might allow ONE device to connect, e.g. the first one connecting if you have a 'switch' connected. Do you have a router you could insert? Of course, you wouldn't need the switch then unless you have more devices than ports on the router.

I have checked, I beleive, all the reccomended devices. All but two are wifi, and I do not want wifi. One can disable wifi on those devices, but one Can Not Turn Off The Wifi Microwave Output. It is always active, no matter what. I tested that on the Temporarly Rented Arris TG02DCG1682CT hub that the install tech brought. The microwatt / Sq Meter power measurement was exactly the same enabled / disabled. I have already, the other day, ordered the other non wifi device. It has two ethernet ports. But, my Motorola MBB8600 modem has one Ethernet port that is Not Covered Up, and three that are. I peeled off the plastic covering then, connected to one, while a computer was connected to the normal one. It is active, and same issue, just like using a switch. This MBB8600 was sold as a four Ethernet port unit, for some reason, they chose to cover up three of them now.

There is no doubt about it. You get assigned only one single public IP address from Comcast. That's why you can't hang an ethernet switch directly off of a straight cable modem. Only one device will get an IP address. If you want to use multiple devices simultaneously, you need to use a router hung off of the cable modem. It will assign multiple private IP addresses to the devices as needed.

If others are working with a 'switch' then their Modem is not just a modem, but has integrated router capabilities. You might check the description of other 'modem' devices offered/recommended by Comcast. I believe there is a 'gateway' device that is a modem/router combo. 2351a5e196
