YULIANO HUMBERTO ENCINAS ORTIZ
GUITARIST
Yuliano is a versatile musician that plays acoustic and electric guitar, electric and acoustic bass, mandolin, percussion, piano, voice, and zampona. He has studied these instruments under renown international musicians such as Rolando Encinas, Martin Castillo, Oscar Peñafiel, Danilo Rojas, Jorge Echazu, Einar Guillen, Elsa Tejada, Luis Guillen and Miguel Cerruto (Bolivia), Koji Hishimoto, Gentaro Takada (Japón), Gerardo Pérez Capdevila y Alfonso Contreras (Cuba), and Calvarino P. (Chile). Although he has grown up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he later moved to Bolivia and worked on his skills while keeping a recording studio, as a director of a salsa orchestra “Yuliano & Punto”, and a folkloric group “Sur”. He has also worked in the “Música de Maestros” foundation, as a teacher in Fundación KJARKAS, and a sound technician in the Municipal theater and 6 de Agosto in La Paz, Bolivia.
His performance versatility has taken him to travel around the world to Japan, China, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Luxemburg, Brazil, Argentina, French Guyana, Perú, Chile, Argentina, The U.S., and Colombia. He has performed with renown groups such as Orquesta Criolla Música de Maestros, Sin Fronteras, YULIANO & PUNTO, SUR, Esther Marisol, Enriqueta Ulloa, Zulma Yugar, Matilde Casazola, Gisela Santa Cruz, Yayo Joffre y Loa Jairas, Rolando Encinas, Jaime Junaro y el Grupo Tierra, Savia Nueva, Rumillajta, Grupo Kallawaya, Taypi k´ala, Donato Espinoza, Jenny Cárdenas, El Dúo Yuri Morales y Fernando Sandoval, Contraste Latino, Las Voces del Huyra, Akapana, Wilson Molina, and Lineth Acebei. Among his multiple talents, he is also a dancer in the National Dance company CONADANZ since 1995, a winner of the national guitar competition “Abril en Tarija” in 1995, has participated in the music and film in Bolivian movies “Los Andes no Creen en Dios,” “Atraco,” and has represented South America in the first mass of pope Benedicto XIII in Cologne, Germany.
