ALFREDO PAREDES
Guitar/Charango player, arranger and music educator
Paredes is a musician from Bolivia that started piano and electric guitar at an early age. He later started playing charango, a traditional 10 string instrument from the Andes (an important trademark of Bolivian music).
Since 2004, he has given music lessons of both modern and classical harmony, teaching technique and styles for both electric and classical guitar, ear training (solfeggio), and music theory. He has developed a "Modern method of Study" for the charango, which adopts modern harmonic structures and extended techniques with influences of Indian Ragas and Talas, Turkish and Middle Eastern Music, as well as jazz.
Alfredo traveled the world between 2009 to 2015 working as a musician. He has been part of several different ensembles including big bands, jazz combos, and rock bands, among others. He has also worked as a solo guitarist performing classical music arrangements and traditional Bolivian music. Alfredo has also performed with several entertainment acts, including Broadway singers and headliner acts from Las Vegas.
His experience, versatility and reading skills have allowed him to perform any kind of musical assignment given. Currently Alfredo is working as an arranger for different styles of music and giving online music lessons.
