CampusDue (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) helps users detect academic deadlines from emails and notifications, and create reminders. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
CampusDue only accesses data with your explicit permission.
CampusDue may access limited email data such as:
Subject line
Sender information
Timestamp
Email preview/snippet
This data is used solely to detect deadlines.
Gmail: Access is provided by user manually creating profile and giving Notification listener permissions.
Outlook: Access is provided via Microsoft OAuth (AAD OAuth) with read-only permissions or just by creating a profile and giving notification listener permissions specific for University students.
CampusDue does not permanently store full email content.
If enabled, CampusDue can read notifications from:
Email apps (Gmail, Outlook)
Messaging apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram)
This allows the app to detect deadlines in real-time without opening emails.
Notification data may include:
Notification title
Notification text/content
This data is processed locally and not stored permanently beyond what is required to create reminders.
Outlook uses OAuth tokens (access + refresh tokens) stored securely on your device
Gmail uses user created profile stored locally
These tokens are:
Used only for accessing your email metadata
Never shared with third parties
CampusDue does not access or store your account passwords.
In rare cases (e.g., app crashes), CampusDue may collect:
Device model and manufacturer
Android version
App version
Error logs
This information is used only for debugging and is not transmitted automatically.
We use accessed data only to:
Detect assignment, exam, or academic deadlines
Create reminders and notifications
Display upcoming academic events
Improve app reliability and performance
We do not:
Sell your data
Use your data for advertising
Build user profiles
CampusDue is designed with a local-first approach:
Email and notification data are processed locally or temporarily
Extracted reminders (title, date, time) are stored on your device
Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device
We do not maintain external servers that store your personal data.
CampusDue does not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
Data is only transmitted to:
Microsoft APIs (for Outlook access)
This transmission is required for core functionality.
CampusDue may request:
Account access (Outlook) – to read email metadata
Notification access – to detect deadlines from notifications
Notification permission – to send reminders
Internet access – to connect securely to email services
All permissions are optional and used strictly for app functionality.
You have full control over your data:
Disconnect your email account at any time
Disable notification scanning
Delete reminders
Uninstall the app to remove all stored data
Once disconnected, CampusDue stops accessing your data immediately.
All communications use secure HTTPS connections
Email access is read-only
No modification is made to your emails or accounts
Sensitive tokens are stored locally and securely
CampusDue is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
