What is NOVA (Northern Ohio Virtual Airstream)?
As a Wally Byam Airstream Club (WBAC also know as WBCCI) member unit we hope that NOVA helps to extend your Airstream experience and provide you with new ways to participate in Airstream fellowship. If you become a NOVA member, you will have full member privileges to WBAC and receive information about upcoming rallies and informal get-togethers planned by NOVA. NOVA is all about getting people out to enjoy casual camping time together. The distinctive advantage of NOVA is that we are made for Airstreamers on the move. All of our business meetings take place in our own chat room on Air Forums, meaning that you can always participate from the comfort of your keyboard. You will be notified of any scheduled meeting and given specific directions for logging into the chat room once you become a NOVA member. Interested in Joining NOVA?
A message from our founding President:
This unit is dedicated to respecting the traditions of the Wally Byam Airstream Club (WBAC also know as WBCCI), along with using the latest technologies to allow for Airstreamers to have fun!
As required, this unit is based geographically in Northern Ohio. In practice, membership in this virtual unit will be boundless. The intended purpose for this arrangement is to provide a “home” to non-traditional members.
WBAC is a unique, well-established, historical group. It just so happens to represent my latest passion, Airstreams. So what makes the WBAC special? To me, the group represents the adventure of travel. The fellowship and cooperation demonstrated and created by the Club are well defined. The traditions are grand. The history is proud.
In different forms, the question of the need for NOVA has been called. WBAC has a few hundred units. The WBAC has a couple of well known “progressive” units. NOVA will aim to take the “progression” another step. It will be the intention of NOVA to offer camaraderie daily if desired. A goal will be for a NOVA member to be able to log into a forum, and see a fellow NOVA member online.
Wally Byam's Four Freedoms:
1) Freedom from Arrangements - from reservations, schedules, taxi's, tips, etc; In short, most of the inconveniences of modern travel.
2) Freedom from the problems of age - trailer travel provides an antidote to boredom, an economical way to make new friends, visit new places, and share new adventures. Trailer travel makes it easier to take care of and amuse children.
3) Freedom to know - Trailer travel provides a better opportunity to get to know a country and it's people and an increased opportunity to discover the world.
4) Freedom for fun - All of the first three freedoms add up to the fourth. You just plain begin to relax and enjoy life to the full.
Wally Byam’s Creed:
“In the heart of these words is an entire life’s dream. To those of you who find in the promise of these words your promise, I bequeath this creed… my dream belongs to you.”
To place the great wide world at your doorstep for you who yearn to travel with all the comforts of home.
To provide a more satisfying, meaningful way of travel that offers complete travel independence, wherever and whenever you choose to go or stay.
To keep alive and make real an enduring promise of high adventure and faraway lands… of rediscovering old places and new interests.
To open a whole world of new experiences… a new dimension in enjoyment where travel adventure and good fellowship are your constant companions.
To encourage clubs and rallies that provide an endless source of friendships, travel fun and personal expressions.
To lead caravans wherever the four winds blow… over twinkling boulevards, across trackless deserts… to the traveled and untraveled corners of the earth.
To play some part in promoting international goodwill and understanding among the peoples of the world through person-to-person contact.
To refine and perfect our product by continuous travel-testing over the highways and byways of the world.
To strive endlessly to stir the venturesome spirit that moves you to follow a rainbow to its end… and thus make your travel dreams come true.
