Bird Watching

This region has a very rich and diversified flora and fauna. Throughout the Natural Park you can observe this multiplicity that enchants and makes us travel in a world of dream and fantasy, far from the rush and noise of urban space. However, it is above all the birds that impress and enchant us.

Next to Albufeira do Caia (by Santa Eulália) we have a bird observatory where we can contemplate different species:

§ Waterfowl – Mallard, Trumpeter Duck, Red-billed Duck, Frilled Duck, Common Duckling, Crested Grebe, White-faced Cormorant, Little Egret , gray heron, heron, common coot, stilt, dwarf tern, terns, spoonbills.

§ Large land birds – white stork, black kite, golden plover, lapwing, bee-eater.

Also noteworthy are the presence of other species of birds of interest such as the kite, the harrier, the kestrel, the lark, the great bustard , the little bustard, the lark, the roller , the blue creeper , the blue tit and great tit , the short-toed eagle , the round-winged eagle, the bee-eater , the shrike , the common cartax , the common nightingale , the woodpecker and the griffins .
