This Privacy Policy explains how Walabok LLC (“Walabok,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you download, install, access, or use the CamperMap mobile application (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store. It applies to all users of the App, and it supplements the jurisdiction-specific disclosures in Section 11.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the App and uninstall it from your device. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Use.
CamperMap is built to work with as little personal information as possible. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password to use it. We collect only what is needed to make the App work, to show relevant ads in the free version, to understand and improve the App, and to keep it stable and secure. Wherever we can, information stays on your device and is never sent to us.
For the purposes of applicable data-protection laws (including the EU/UK GDPR), the data controller responsible for your personal information is:
Walabok LLC — Contact: walabokllc@gmail.com
We do not currently maintain a Data Protection Officer, but you may direct all privacy inquiries and requests to the email address above.
CamperMap is an independent product of Walabok LLC. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Recreation.gov, the Recreation Information Database (RIDB), or any other government agency or booking provider. References to those sources are provided for information only.
What we collect. Your device’s precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) from Apple’s Core Location framework (GPS, Wi‑Fi, and cellular positioning).
When we collect it. Location is accessed while you are actively using the App (“While Using” permission). If the App offers, and you enable, optional proximity or background features, it may also use location in the background (“Always” permission); you can decline or revoke this at any time.
How we use it. To center the map on your position and show campgrounds, RV parks, and free/dispersed camping spots near you; to calculate distances and estimated drive times; to plan routes and find campsites along your route when you choose “current location” as a starting point; and to look up nearby amenities (such as water, dump stations, restrooms, and fuel).
Where it is processed and stored. Location is processed primarily on your device. When you plan a route or request related data, coordinates may be transmitted over HTTPS to service providers — for example Apple Maps / MapKit for routing, and weather and elevation providers — to perform that function. We do not persistently store, log, or transmit your GPS coordinates to any server owned or operated by Walabok LLC. Location is held transiently in device memory only for as long as needed and then discarded.
Your control. Manage location access any time in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → CamperMap (“Never,” “While Using the App,” or “Always”).

The free version of the App displays advertisements served through Google AdMob in up to four formats: banner ads at the bottom of the map, full-screen interstitial ads shown occasionally between interactions, app‑open ads when you return to the App (rate‑limited to avoid fatigue), and native ads styled to match the App within content lists.
Google AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers (IDFA, with your consent), ad-interaction data (impressions, clicks, conversions, viewability), and device signals for ad selection, auction mechanics, and fraud prevention. The App may send contextual signals such as its App Store listing URL, non-personal keywords describing the App’s topic (e.g., “camping,” “rv parks,” “campground,” “boondocking”), and a personalization flag reflecting your consent status. Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) governs data collected by AdMob.
Premium subscribers are never shown advertisements. Upgrading to any premium plan immediately disables all ad loading, ad display, and ad-related data collection by AdMob within the App.
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used — for example, which screens are viewed, which features are used, and anonymous, aggregated event counts (such as paywall views and purchases). This helps us fix problems and improve the App. This analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The App also integrates the Meta (Facebook) SDK for install attribution — understanding which ad or link led you to install the App. Advertiser-ID collection and automatic event logging in the Meta SDK are disabled by default in the App; Meta processes any data it does receive under Meta’s Data Policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/).
The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information (such as device state and stack traces at the time of a crash) so we can find and fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity.
The App uses two consent mechanisms, both processed and stored locally on your device:
Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT). The App presents Apple’s standard prompt asking whether you allow it to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you deny, the App requests only non-personalized ads.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). In regions subject to the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, or similar rules, the App presents a consent dialog (compliant with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) letting you manage consent for specific advertising purposes and vendors. You can update these preferences any time via the privacy options in the App.
Your consent choices are stored on your device and are not transmitted to Walabok LLC’s servers.
All payments for subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s StoreKit framework. Walabok LLC has no access to, and does not collect, your credit or debit card numbers, bank details, billing address, Apple ID password, or any other payment or financial account information.
The only purchase information handled by the App stays on your device: whether your subscription is active, expired, in a billing grace period, restored, or a lifetime purchase; and the cryptographic App Store receipt used solely to validate your entitlement to premium features. This is stored locally and is not sent to any Walabok server.
The following stays on your device and is not transmitted to Walabok LLC unless stated:
A cached database of campsite, campground, RV-park, and point-of-interest records used so the map loads quickly. This cache is refreshed over HTTPS from our content server (a Cloudflare Worker endpoint) and uses conditional requests (ETag / If‑None‑Match) to minimize data transfer.
Your preferences (such as units, map theme, and feature toggles), consent flags, and obfuscated subscription-status flags.
Any favorites or recently viewed places you save, which persist until you delete them or uninstall the App.
Local counters used to decide when to show Apple’s in-app rating prompt at positive moments.
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of this local data. Because it was never sent to our servers, we cannot recover it.
To show campsite and trip information, the App requests data over HTTPS from our content server and from third-party sources, including U.S. government data (such as Recreation.gov / RIDB), OpenStreetMap, mapping and routing providers, weather, elevation and air-quality providers, cellular-coverage datasets, and wildfire and fire-restriction feeds (such as the U.S. National Interagency Fire Center and NASA FIRMS). Like any internet service, our content server may automatically log standard technical request data (such as IP address, device/OS type, and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not use these logs to build advertising profiles about you.
We use the information described above to: operate and provide the App’s core features (finding sites, distances, routing, amenities, weather, and coverage); display and measure advertising in the free version; understand usage and improve the App; maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and diagnose crashes; process and validate your premium entitlements; comply with law; and respond to your requests.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the App you request); consent (for personalized advertising and tracking, which you may withdraw at any time via ATT/UMP or device settings); legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, measure, and improve the App, and to serve non-personalized ads, balanced against your rights); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law).
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as follows:
Service providers and partners that make the App work — Apple (payments, maps, push), Google (AdMob advertising, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics), Meta (attribution), and Cloudflare (content delivery) — each acting under its own privacy policy and our agreements.
Advertising. Serving personalized ads may involve “sharing” device identifiers with ad partners as defined by some laws (see Section 11). You can opt out at any time via ATT and UMP; premium subscribers receive no ads at all.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or Walabok.
Business transfers. If Walabok is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Because most data stays on your device, you control its retention and can clear it by deleting content in-app or uninstalling. Data held by our service providers (such as advertising, analytics, crash, and server-log data) is retained according to their policies and our configuration, for only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including HTTPS for data in transit and Apple’s on-device protections — to safeguard information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
CamperMap is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your region). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at walabokllc@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect processing already carried out). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, email walabokllc@gmail.com.
If you are a California resident (or a resident of another U.S. state with similar laws), you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared; to request access to and deletion or correction of your personal information; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under these laws. You can opt out at any time by denying the App Tracking Transparency prompt, adjusting your UMP consent choices in the App, enabling “Limit Ad Tracking” / resetting your advertising identifier in device settings, or subscribing to premium (which removes all ads). To make any other request, email walabokllc@gmail.com.
Send requests to walabokllc@gmail.com. Because the App does not maintain accounts, we may need to verify your request using device- or transaction-level information, and in some cases we may be unable to associate a request with data that is stored only on your device or held in de-identified form by our partners.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers of personal data out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland are made under appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
The App links to and relies on third-party services (such as Recreation.gov, mapping providers, and advertisers). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, presenting a notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
