Welcome to CampDex. We care about your privacy and want to be transparent about how information is handled when you use our app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
By using CampDex you agree to the practices described below.
CampDex is designed to help students stay updated with hostel notices, mess menus, canteen items, laundry scheduling, and issue reporting. To make this possible, we collect only the minimum information required to operate the app.
When you sign in, we collect your email address and password to authenticate you securely. Passwords are handled using Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text by us.
Apart from login details, we do not collect personal information such as your name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, videos, or any financial details.
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve CampDex. This includes allowing you to log in securely, view daily mess menus, browse canteen items and prices, submit food ratings and feedback, report hostel-related issues, book laundry slots, and view hostel notices.
Your information is also used to maintain app security, fix bugs, and ensure smooth performance. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or profiling, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
CampDex allows you to rate food items and leave optional feedback. Providing feedback is completely voluntary and is used only to improve food quality and campus services.
You can also report hostel-related issues such as maintenance or internet problems. These reports are used solely for issue resolution. We do not display personal information publicly with reviews or complaints.
CampDex lets you view daily mess menus and browse canteen items, categories, and prices. The app does not process payments, place orders, or collect billing information. All displayed information is for reference and coordination purposes only.
CampDex uses Google Firebase to manage authentication, store app data, and monitor performance. Firebase may automatically collect limited technical information such as device type, app usage data, and crash reports. This information helps us understand how the app is performing and improve reliability.

CampDex does not display advertisements and does not use third-party advertising SDKs. We also do not track users for marketing purposes.
At this time, CampDex does not allow users to upload photos, videos, or documents. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using secure authentication, encrypted communication, and restricted access to our databases. While no system can guarantee complete security, we work continuously to safeguard user data.
CampDex is intended for students and authorized campus users only. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as CampDex evolves. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
