August 11, 2022 - Worlds of Fun has announced their all-new 2023 addition with a new, reimagined version of the Zambezi Zinger. This is very exciting for Worlds of Fun and its locals as they have not received a new roller coaster since Prowler, 2009.
The new, reimagined Zambezi Zinger is being built by Great Coasters International which also brought/built Prowler to the park. The Zambezi Zinger stands at 74 feet tall with a track length of 2,482 feet. The coaster will reach speeds of 45 mph and consists of no inversions but hugs the terrain and features many low-ground elements.
For coaster enthusiasts, this coaster does not completely use GCI's Titan Track. GCI and Skyline Attractions have explained that the Titan Track will be used in high-stress areas. The Titan Track will also be used on the lift hill too.
In many ways, this ride pays A LOT of homage to the original Zambezi Zinger. The layout of the new Zambezi Zinger is somewhat similar to the old one in a sense, but it also contains a spiral lift hill which was the original coaster's stand-out feature.
In all this is a very exciting addition and interesting choice by Worlds of Fun/Cedar Fair. We are very excited about this project and will update you with construction progress in the coming weeks/months.
