HON 2211 - Honors Writing
This course, which fulfills the General Education ENGL requirement typically met by ENGL 2010, extends principles of rhetorical awareness and knowledge-making introduced in ENGL 1010. By exploring epistemologies of academic and professional disciplines, students will analyze and create texts in various genres, preparing them to enter into advanced disciplinary discourses.
About the Signature Assignment
This assignment was the final project of HON - 2211. My signature assignment was to design an infographic about a subject within my field and how researchers share information about that subject. This infographic will discuss the influence of nature vs. nurture on human development. I presented information about this topic as clearly as possible, allowing majors outside my own to understand and consider entering this field. Next to the infographic will be a reflection on the creative process of designing the infographic.
The following is the project assigned just before the signature assignment. I have included the assignment below because I am proud of it. It was the hardest I have ever worked on an essay and the first time I used APA standards in formatting and citations. Besides the effort invested in the essay, I thoroughly enjoyed working on it. The assignment was to investigate and describe the similarities and differences between articles in my field of interest (namely treatments for ADHD). The purpose of such was to describe the themes within this genre of academic literature effectively.
