Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire people of all ages and abilities to play, learn and enjoy volleyball through coaching, games and competitions.

We provide opportunities for players to develop their skills to the level that their ability and commitment allows.

Our passionate players, coaches and volunteers make volleyball happen in Cambridge.

Volleyball Development: Help players develop their skills, sportsmanship and passion for volleyball.

Player Growth: Encourage teamwork, active living and personal development.

Duty of Care: Put the safety, well-being and development of our members first.

Fairness: Treat everyone fairly and ensure all members have the opportunity to take part and develop.

Being part of CVC

This really is your club – run by members, for members. Pitch in, support each other and see the difference you make.

Membership: Pay membership, training and event fees on time.

Training & Competition: Attend training and matches regularly and on time. Let your coach or team know if you are going to be late or absent. Respect coaching decisions and support the team in whatever role is needed.

Teamwork: Share the workload, support your coach, captain and teammates, and help with kit, equipment and facilities. Get involved in club activities such as tournaments, refereeing and other volunteer roles.

Player Expectations

Commitment: Attend training regularly and on time, ready to give your best.

Community: This really is your club - run by members, for members. Pitch in and see the difference you can make.

Connect: Build friendships through a shared love of volleyball.

Support: Support each other to grow as players and people.

As a CVC player

Development: Make every effort to develop your skills, fitness and understanding of the game.

Respect: Treat teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and spectators with respect, whatever the result. Follow the Volleyball England Code of Conduct for Players and take responsibility for your behaviour.

Sportsmanship: Play fairly, follow the rules and respect the spirit of the game. Help create an inclusive and enjoyable environment where everyone feels welcome and supported.

Safety: Follow venue rules at all times. No smoking, alcohol or drugs on school premises or while representing CVC at competitions.
