Thank you. Monthy Update #1
I love you, 8-12.
Thank you. Monthy Update #1
Tuesday, November 1st, 2022
Can't believe we're already 2 months into the 2022-2023 school year! It only felt like a week since the last November. November is one of my favorite months because you really get to experience the transition from fall to winter, and it's also my birthday as well which makes it a bit more exciting! And, most importantly, we're a month away from hitting the first year anniversary since the launch and start of my most proudest achievement, Calvin Industries cooperation. With Calvin Industries, it has changed my life a lot. I feel like Calvin Industries has truly shaped my identity, and people see me mainly for my company. Is it sad, or is it a good thing that my only accomplishment is my company? November also marks nearly a month since the launch of CalvinX, my current biggest project. CalvinX has changed my life as well- and I feel like CalvinX is a great upgrade from Calvin Industries, as we get to learn more about our world. I've just wanted to say that I've always wanted to go above and beyond for every project and try new things which aren't commonly done. From my website, I know that some of my projects have been a failure- and I risked a lot when going above and beyond, because I've definitely lost some marks for doing so, but, my goal isn't to be the best, nor the greatest- my goal is to be different from others. I really want to strive to push myself in every aspect, and I really want to be seen as someone more than just a student. I'm going to be honest, I have dedicated a lot of time into these projects, and sometimes, it's not really worth the outcome. But, I know that I am capable of doing something different from others, and that pushes me to do more. So, this November, my goal is to continue doing what I'm doing. For the purpose of my company, I want to increase how people see me and my company mainly. My addiction with Last Christmas has driven some negative effects on me and my company, and I want to aspire to do more than be annoying around my pears. I want to aspire to help others- not annoy them. This month, CalvinX will make big changes to our policies, employees, and workspace behavior. We will not tolerate bullying, nor will we tolerate bullying others through Christmas carols. From the entire team at CalvinX, we want to thank you for joining us on this incredible journey to getting to learn and see the world differently. I want to thank you for supporting the on-going efforts at CalvinX and our projects. My only dedication to continuing doing what I'm doing- is from the support of the incredible students in the grade 8 classes, mainly 8-12 and 8-18. I want to thank the teachers who helped me along the way, and the various other people. CalvinX will be greater, bigger, and better than ever- and we will dedicate it to you, your interest, and your wishes. It definitely isn't easy adapting to working with a Elon Musk wannabe, but thank you for sticking by, and getting to adapt to the classroom. We are aware of your complaints and wishes- and we are working hard to fufuill them! From everyone at the CalvinX team, we are wishing you a happy November, and soon to be Merry Christmas!
Happy Halloween
Monday, October 31st, 2022
From everybody at CalvinX, I would just like to wish everybody a happy Halloween! Man, it only felt like a month since the last Halloween. But, Halloween is one of those times when you really get to feel the vibe of fall. The pumpkins, the falling leaves, the orange- it really shows me the transition of our seasons! I don't know what about it, but there's a vibe associated with Halloween. The colors, and the mood. All though I don't really celebrate Halloween, I do love the holiday- not because of the free candy and all the cavities that you can get from it, but the CREATIVTY of people and their outfits! I cannot tell you how many times I stumbled upon a costume that blew my mind from its creativity and unique design. From British soldiers, to some dude from Star Wars- these DIY costumes really shows me how all out people can go in their costumes, and how much creativity they may have from simple household objects which they used to mend together. I recently took a stroll around my neighbourhood, and I was also blown away from the peoples creativity! From home-made props, to props that nearly made me call the cops.. some people really have some dedication when it comes to Halloween. I really love Halloween for this reason, and I do love the many different free treats you can get! From all of us at CalvinX and Calvin Industries, we wish you a happy Halloween, and happy trick or treating! Hoping you gets lots of candy, but not too much of course (gotta prevent cavities). I hope you can find joy in this once in a year opportunity. Now that Halloween has passed, it's time for the next holiday to come- aka CHRISTMAS SEASON!
Last Christmas
Saturday, October 22nd, 2022
I'm sure we've all woken up on a Saturday morning and woken up to see a blizzard of snow outside in Calgary. I've also been surprised by the circumstances, and it amazes me to see such a big difference and transition in our weather over 8 hours. It was only a week ago when things felt like an oven. It amazes me to see how yesterday was just an ordinary cloudy day; over an overnight period, that mood transitions into what made me feel like Christmas. The transition from summer to fall to soon-to-be winter. It fascinates me as I see once an environment full of life- of kids playing outside, insects thriving to an oven-thawing sun. Then, to a depressing, cloudy, and dead environment where all the animals have migrated, all the trees begin their transition for winter over just a week. During the heat-encroaching September, I hear kids chanting from the high school next door and the construction going on nearby. During winter, that mood has faded. Everything in the environment seems to have died, including the noises. All I see on the fields behind our school lies plastic and seagulls seeking an early morning snake. This transition also reminds me how fast time flies by because, to me, it only felt like a few weeks since the summer break, when the sun was blinding my eyes. That joy of getting to play outside has faded—the feeling of the sun has disappeared. I sit and reflect outside, how fast things the mood and our environment could change. Sometimes, I reflect how I'm in grade 8. I feel like only a month has passed since I was in elementary, and getting to have fun with my friends outside. As we are approaching the next winter season, I hope everyone can seek and adapt to our environment outside because you know how things are in Canada- winter months last a very long time. And I wish everybody a Happy Halloween as it only lies a week away.
Weekly Updates
Friday, October 21st, 2022
October 21st, 2022, this date exactly marks a week after the establishment and development of CalvinX, a newly designed and thought-up concept by its CEO, Calvin Musk. Over the past week, we have continued to expand our cooperation through employees and hired four new people to the team in 8-12 and 1 additional employee for the marketing department in 8-18. This week, CalvinX successfully released its presentation, which discussed climate change and its effects on our planet through the Calvin Industries LIVE event. A major priority we have is to increase assignment incomes and grades, as we saw a drop in the grades which we have received on our assignments. We are focusing on making our writings for concise, as well as beginning to properly edit our work for grammar mistakes. We also successfully presented a presentation outlining reverse osmosis and how we can clean our waters with these membranes. In Humanities 8, CalvinX began its development on a timeline that traces the evolution and history of humans, which is still currently in effect, and went on to revise and redo all of its assignments in the autobiography unit to increase its stocks. This week, employee satisfaction increased slightly as CalvinX began its plan to increase the statistics later this month. This week, CalvinX started working on its website, which has come a long way following nearly three days of development. We are constantly working on designing new rockets and ad wor projects for the Freshwater and Saltwater Systems unit, including the portfolio and presentation, which outlines everything we discussed in class. As we approach our next unit which discusses particles and matter in science, CalvinX is developing a new Kahoot hope to be played by 8-12 and possibly 8-18 as a final activity. More update to come next week on Friday as we approach spooky week!
Our next goal : Complete the timeline project, and Freshwater Systems portfolio.
Goals and Statistics
Friday, October 21st, 2022
This data shows the progressive stocks at CalvinX and Calvin Industries (remember, both are the same organization). Stocks have slowly risen over time during the grade 7 school year and had fallen as we reach Summer break as expected- due to decreased workloads during these periods. CalvinX is seeing an increase in its stocks and popularity this school year compared to the 2022-2023 school year. This data is gathered and determined by various factors- including productivity rate, projects, teacher approval, student approval, employee count, and workloads. Last year, we saw an uphill in performance ratio mainly due to factors in science and humanities. The various different projects presented offered CalvinX to push themselves to the limits. The goal and hope for the organization are to increase that count to the highest potential by hiring new employees, expanding our popularity, and overall increasing work performance in quality and quantity in our projects. As our organization continues to grow and develop, we see a rise in employee satisfaction. Most of the employees at CalvinX are unsatisfied with their jobs due to the lack of payments and paychecks. Still, over the next year, we are looking forward to demolishing that through the new internship program, which is offering rewards to our students and teachers for the hard quality work they have done at CalvinX. Prizes range from candy to certificates to special perks at the organization. As a valuable employee, CalvinX is looking to give back to the community. In the next week, CalvinX is looking forward to creating competitive games for our students (Kahoots) and having them compete for their prizes while learning more about our world and science. The lack of employee satisfaction mainly comes from how they aren't satisfied with their co-workers, and lack of pay. These factors will be addressed by the CEO at the next opportunity there is.
Calvin Musk Addresses Disputes
October 19th, 2022
Calvin Industries has been reported to have lower employee satisfaction than ever recorded in in history, due to lack of pay, and lack of reward.
CalvinX has one of the worst reputations in the class due to it's constant reputation of singing Last Christmas and Christmas carols in October.
CalvinX has one of the worst reputations because of its long presentations, and over-extended speeches in discussions in science.
Calvin Industries formerly was hated due to inaproppraiate workspace behavior revolving the CEO, Calvin Musk, and some other employees.
CalvinX has one of the most reputations because of how they rip-off and steal work from other companies, like SpaceX, and Stark Industries.
CalvinX has a bad reputation because of its bad history with its partnering companies in the partnership program.
Here at Calvin Industries, we hear your complaints revolving around the company. We hear your hatred towards CalvinX and your negative thoughts and opinions revolving around it. However, we are working to change our reputation. The team at CalvinX works around the clock in providing quality projects, in a quality workspace as well. A workspace of a safe learning environment welcome to all diversities. Simon Fraser embraces diversity, and CalvinX has partnered up with the school in enforcing such. Although we are known to steal logos design from other companies, like SpaceX and Stark Industries, we have dedicated ourselves to putting them to good use. We have dedicated our full cooperation to a good cause in the education system and will further boost their reputation. Our long presentations were very fond of by our peers (totally), but we assure you that they are long because they try to consist of as many facts and detail as possible. Workspace behavior and environments have been an issue for some time, but I have addressed them and am finding an effective solution to fixing them. CalvinX shouldn't need to pay its employees in real-life currency because CalvinX itself is a cooperation that has helped its students in academics. We have even gone out of our way to help by creating a slideshow that outlines an entire unit. CalvinX, instead, instead of being seen as a source of income- should be seen as a source of friendship. We have loads of different employees of different diversities, and it's fundamental that you embrace it and get to work with some peers. In terms of the Christmas carols, that isn't something that we are capable of fixing. It's something that has become a part of our identity, and we are not capable of revising it.
Protecting the Rights of our Students and Employees
Sunday, October 16th, 2022
Over the past month, CalvinX has seen a drastic increase in the risk factors for CalvinX. These factors include hostile threats, and we have seen a decrease in CalvinX's reputation. We have also seen more complaints from employees of toxic workspace behaviors and employees being hostility towards one another. In addition, over the past two weeks, we have seen more targets trying to steal Calvin Industries' private documents and using violence and theft to get what they want. The main target, Kevin Xia, has repeatedly been acting hostile towards the cooperation and has become one of the most significant risk factors for CalvinX and the association. In addition, Mr. Xia has often questioned the company's integrity and gained access to some confidential documents, which are preserved for the use of CalvinX and personal only. Mr. Calvin Musk has since addressed these allegations and negative risk factors for the cooperation and stated a solution to enforcing new rules that work towards stopping these behaviors. We are introducing a new department known as the Department of Security Enforcement, or "DOSE," a newly developing intelligence and law enforcement agency part of the CalvinX Branch. This new organization is equipped with three new employees- all from 8-12- who work towards enforcing school rules, investigating crimes, and, most importantly, preventing crimes. Introducing the DOSE department is the beginning of a new legacy and will hopefully resolve some disputes around the company. Agents working for DOSE are responsible for ensuring integrity in enforcing a safe learning space for all students and investigating minor crimes and issues on school grounds. Most importantly, they are also a mentor in ensuring students are aware of rules and promoting safety, well-being, and accountability for their actions. This is phase 1 of CalvinX's plan to reduce toxicity in the workspace.
Freshwater and Saltwater Systems
Friday, October 14th, 2022
Many students complained about the lack of content in Google Classroom and how they wished there was a unit outline that covered everything we've learned in our Freshwater and Saltwater Systems unit. CalvinX and Calvin Industries have dedicated their team to meeting student needs and requirements and have developed a 60+ slideshow outlining and explaining all contents covered in class. This slideshow has been approved, revised, and cross-referenced multiple times, so most information is correct. However, please report any false statement or any information you wish to add, modify, or remove to any CalvinX staff members. Action will be taken as you requested if deemed reasonable. This presentation has been designed since the beginning of the science unit. It outlines everything we've learned + including fun facts and some bonus topics, which is interesting to know more about the different events revolving around our water sources. This presentation should be used as a study guide and a guide if you ever feel stuck on what we're learning in our Freshwater and Saltwater Systems unit. Bonus: Calvin Industries will soon be hosting a Kahoot, which has been approved by Ms. Ivy- which should outline everything we have covered in our Freshwater and Saltwater systems, with different prizes available to those who manage to make it on the podium.
CalvinX Partnership Program
Friday, October 14th, 2022
Last year, Calvin Industries partnered up with 10 different organizations in Simon Fraser, mainly through part of the industrial alliance, like Chad Industries, Hayden Industries, and Jaidyn Industries- and later, the FBI, and various other government organizations. This year, although the organization has separated from the industrial alliance, we are still opening the new partnership program from CalvinX. Currently, applications are open to any organizations which meet the requirements who wish to collaborate with the organization. With CalvinX, we have now made contracts with 5 different organizations which are willing to collaborate with CalvinX in future and up-coming projects, and is willing to support each other if required.
Chad Industries
One of the biggest partnerships of CalvinX is back once again, and it's bigger than ever as it overtakes the role of the leading intelligence agency in 8-18, formerly 7-21. Chad Industries has been a long time supporter in past projects back in the 2021-2022 school year, mainly in science projects, like the Building Big Project, which he assisted in testing and funding components of the entire operation. Chad Industries remains to be the largest funder of CalvinX, and is working towards establishing better relations in the up-coming school year despite their separation. Chad Industries has remained a long time supporter in funding operations at CalvinX. CalvinX is looking to overtaking Chad Industries in the future to get secret intel in operations and events in 8-18 like an informant.
Nathan Inc
Founded by Nathan in 8-something, Nathan Inc is a leading company in one of the other grade eight classes. Being operated by Kieran V, Nathan Inc is a striving and developing organization which is actively seeking new employees. Today, they have recruited nearly 10 employees, and has been manufacturing chocolate bars for the past year, mainly being established in the 2021-2022 school year. During then, Nathan Inc was a major risk factor for Calvin Industries and competition. There was a lot of tense battles between their relationships, but in grade 8, Nathan Inc has decided to partner up with CalvinX and Calvin Industries since their biggest spokesperson, Henry Zhang, has been working actively on various projects with CalvinX.
Calvin Industries Presents : CalvinX
Monday, October 10th, 2022
Founded by CEO Calvin Musk, Calvin Industries is an ongoing effort to change how the curriculum and school system works. Not by sitting at a desk for 6 hours but by allowing our younger generations to be interactive and do what their brains were intended to do. Challenge themselves. We are introducing the next big project at Calvin Industries, CalvinX. CalvinX is the next significant technological cooperation, which focuses on using technology to change how we express and communicate our ideas, similar to Calvin Industries. What is the difference with CalvinX? We are using that concept to discover a purpose in existence beyond the stars. We are using technology to innovate our ideas and to see a perspective of reality that differs from what we're used to seeing. What else are we interested in as an "inspiration" of SpaceX? Rockets. We are developing one of the most powerful rockets you will ever see in humanity, with remodified engines ensuring the best fuel efficiency and remodeling our thrusters to have incredible thrust power, allowing us to explore a meaning that lies further than thought humanly possible. The only catch? The model is done on paper. Although we are strictly limited to only using paper and technology, we are dedicating ourselves to using our available resources to create projects that are sure to impress. With teams from different departments, each one of our projects takes nearly hours of design, innovation, and modeling before we are confident in sharing them. CalvinX is a new way to explore our universe and see it from a different perspective, allowing us to change our mindset on how we perceive it. With over 20 employees, we are constantly expanding and growing. As a newly developing organization, you can join too.
The End of a Legacy
June 28th, 2022
Grade 7, or the 2021-2022 school year, was a significant success for the rise and development of Calvin Industries and is the first year of the company's legacy. Although the gift of grade 7 is ending, Calvin Industries is still looking to continue its expansion next year. Calvin Industries began back in around December, and since then, we have risen in our skillsets, and what we are capable of creating with the possibility of technology. This year, we published various projects that we were proud of in our efforts to enhance and expand our skillset regarding projects. Our most noticeable and evident projects were the Refugee Final Project, our Pangea project, the Adanac project, the Failing Structures Project, the Building Big Project, and the Fixing Fairytale Projects. These projects took hours to design and create, but they exceeded expectations, like our goal and mission. Overall, the production rate has risen nearly 50 percent over the past 5 months (from January). Outcomes proved to be significantly better than grade 6, looking at grades and grade outcomes of these projects. Through these projects, we were able to expand our reputation and expand our audience as everyone continues to learn about Calvin Industries. Through different presentations of the Calvin Industries LIVE event, like the poetic anthology- the organization was able to reach more groups of people, and inform them revolving real world events, with a mix of humour. The importance of Calvin Industries has grown to 7-21 and 7-14, but we are looking forward to continuing expansions in grade 8. We have managed to promote our industries and our stock market to 2 interested participants. This year, we were able to not only produce a variety of successful projects but also promote them greatly through sponsorships and social networking- and through the newly acquired partnership program. Not only that, but this school year was a fun and amusing year, as we got to engage in different labs, which we fondly remember. This year, Calvin Industries was promoted through all types of projects and documents and made several contracts with participants in 7-21 who were interested in promoting the company through their projects. Although most teachers were not fond of the idea of Calvin Industries, and a slightly reduced grade on some projects due to increased quantity, the outcomes were worth it. Through Calvin Industries, we established many new relationships, and we got to experience an opportunity embedded inside our hearts for eternity. Calvin Industries continues to expand daily, and we will continue class domination. This year was a great learning opportunity for Calvin Industries and all students, so- cheers to another great year in grade 8, and we would like to thank all students and teachers who made Grade 7 a memorable year for not just our industries but also our industries for all students. In grade 8, we want Calvin Industries to continue to flourish and bigger than ever! We are looking forward towards meeting, and getting to interact with a new community.
We look forward to making grade 8 just as unique as a year, if not better!
