About the CBI
About the Calvin Bureau of Investigation
Since the establishment of Calvin Industries Corporation, we saw a public threat from the public which
sought to compromise the safety and security of Calvin Industries and its organizations and employees. With such hatred from such a large community, the CBI was established in early 2021 to try to combat hatred, violence, and compromises to the public security of the academic integrity at Calvin Industries. Today, we're still standing, and we're expanding our skillsets, knowledge, and skillsets. Our mission stands strong in our vision to make learning safer for every student.
We're investing, protecting, and securing our education system
We believe that education is the key to solving some of our world's largest environmental and societal issues from climate change to global warming to various others. We know that our future generations is our hope in resolving these problems to sustain our planet for many more generations to come. Hence, our commitment revolves around safeguarding what stands as a primary advocate for the well-being of the generations to come – our education. Education is vital for personal growth and empowerment, as it equips individuals with knowledge and skills while fostering critical thinking. It also drives economic development by creating a skilled workforce and reducing inequalities. Its value and importance makes us committed towards protecting it.
Mission #1
Protect our Education System
Our main objective is to safeguard our education system and preserve the academic integrity against significant challenges that jeopardize our students' learning capabilities. We are collaborating with school authorities and educators to establish fresh protocols aimed at addressing and rectifying the behavior of students who are responsible for creating unsafe learning environments for their peers.
Mission #2
Educating to Reform Positive Change
We comprehend and acknowledge that the act of suspension holds no advantages for students. Our stance involves discouraging the use of suspension for certain individuals. Instead, our efforts are directed towards implementing reformation strategies that help in cultivating positive behavioral changes among students to gain broader perspectives on why this is happening.
Mission #3
Using Technology as a tool, not a weapon
With the rise in A.I technologies such as ChatGPT, we're understanding how useful this technology may be in our daily needs in research and various others, and how it can be DANGEROUS. We're working on enforcing responsible usage of technologies to prevent plagiarism and harmful activities that threaten our academic integrity, and/or their peers.
Mission #4
Creating a diverse community
We're working with our school and communities to see how we can make our learning environment more diverse and welcoming. We're seeing how we can use education as a tool to educate others on cultures across the globe to contribute to a more harmonious and interconnected world.
Mission #5
Creating thinking classrooms
We're seeing how we can apply real-world police and detective work into our classrooms through activities that mimic crime scene investigations to drive critical thinking, classroom collaboration, and a new approach to learning and grasping course information through fun escape rooms and activites.
Our Mission Statement
"We collaborate with schools to create environments that are not only safe and secure but also welcoming and nurturing for all learners. We are committed to reshaping the landscape of education by fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment to ensure our students are able to work towards their future in an environment where they feel welcomed and safe."

What We Investigate
The Calvin Bureau of Investigation investigates crime, works towards prevention and resolution.
What We Investigate
Gang Mentality
Gang mentality is one of the LARGEST issues within our schools where large groups of mainly problematic students have influence over other students. Gang mentality causes other students to change and shift their behaviors to try to fit in over fear, and can continue to spread like a disease. Gang mentality is a serious issue that we have tried to address numerous times but have failed.
What We Investigate
Cyber Crimes
As social media gets more popular, most crimes happen online, that's why we're prioritizing cybersecurity within our school. We're working with teachers to see how we can maintain online safety and investigate instances of cyberbullying to that we can report them to the proper authorities. We're fostering a secure digital environment and empowering students to navigate the digital world responsibly.
What We Investigate
Vandalism
Vandalism causes hundreds of dollars of damages. We're working on fixing and preventing instances of vandalism, especially inside of washrooms by increasing monitoring and increasing surviliance. We're working with the student council, Simon Fraser, and our students to try to investigate reports of vandalism to try to identify who was involved and how we can prevent this from happening again.
What We Investigate
Violence
We're seeing how to reduce violence within our school communities. Violence takes form in physical forms, psychological forms, sexual violence, and general bullying and harassment and has been seen both in and out of school grounds. We're taking violence extremely seriously by working towards prevention, and reporting violence towards the school and proper authorities as fit.
We investigate crimes to prevent and penalize.
We're the first to the scene to work alongside school officials to investigate the scene of crimes in vandalism and reports of bullying to identify how we can prevent future instances, and how we can bring justice and put the person responsible accountable for their actions. We understand that people aren't afraid to do the things they do because they lack consequences and penalties because they often happen in areas where cameras aren't installed, outside, or outside of school property where instances aren't directly reported to the school. We're putting an end to these crimes by working with school council to see how we can prevent future cases, and how we can resolve current cases. By analyzing the root causes of incidents, we develop tailored solutions that address underlying issues such as conflict resolution, social dynamics, and emotional well-being to address blind spots by engaging the community.
We're not "snitching", we're doing what's best for our students.
It's time that we eradicate the snitching culture. There is a difference between snitching on someone and doing what's right.
We do not get involved with minor cases that do not harm our school or our students. These cases will go unreported and we will not handle them as per usual. We will get involved however if instances of school security or student safety is being breached, where your actions are having a direct impact on the safety of our students and school environment.
If you are actively vandalizing washrooms and destroying school property, or actively harming other students and making our learning environment unsafe and unwelcoming, that is a different story and you will be dealt with accordingly. Our intention is to create an atmosphere of open communication, where individuals feel empowered to share their observations and experiences without fear of negative repercussions.
Diversity is in our blood
Calvin Industries is dedicated to maintaining and cultivating diversity. Diversity is one of Calvin Industries' core values, and we strive to make it a reality for all. We believe that no matter somebody's race, gender, sexuality, religion, belief, experience, origin, or opinions, they have something greater to offer than what is just visible from the outside. As a diverse and more inclusive community, we are creating a community that is more captivating in decision-making, and to better drive innovation as we have a more broad variety of ideas to help contribute to the thinking process at Calvin Industries, and the Calvin Bureau of Investigation.
What We Do
Learn what we're doing to make protect and secure our education system.
Collaborate to Resolve Issues
We're working with:
teachers and school officials to develop policies and take appropriate actions to address the issues threatening our learning environment
school council to develop strategies and effective plans to reduce and prevent future crimes from occurring in the future
victims to prioritize recovery, and students that are involved to reform
Raising awareness to work towards prevention
Our goal is to enhance awareness about the most significant challenges our school faces, with a focus on proactive prevention. Recognizing the pivotal role of education in prevention, we aim to inform and engage the school community to collectively address these issues.
We're raising awareness on various topics such as cybersecurity, A.I, substance abuse, and various others.
Creating a safe building environment for learning
We're working to see how we can protect our student's health by ensuring our nearly 60-year-old school is in good shape. We're working to address air pollution, hazardous materials, air quality, and building safety. Collaborate with relevant experts to ensure a safe learning environment, and working with student council to address possible hazardous and dangerous conditions.
Supporting student welfare
We're working to help victims struggling and help with other students who also may be struggling with mental illnesses that may be due to other causes. We're ensuring that affected individuals receive the assistance they need to recover and move forward. We're handling various crises that may arise in a school setting, such as mental health emergencies, self-harm incidents, and student conflicts.
Providing a reliable and anonymous place to report crime
We know that behind every vandalism case lies a witness tho witnessed what happened. But the snitching culture has sparked fear in our students and their will to report it. We want to create a safe online digital form where you can report what you see with information that will be sent to the proper authorities to investigate without your identity being collected.
We're representing our students and their concerns.
We are aware that there are issues within our school that lack perspective and insight from our students. We each have different perspectives and opinions on different matters. We run appropriate surveys and collect data from students to see what needs to be done about our issues, and what issues go unnoticed to represent our student's needs, wants, and concerns.
