CalSnap AI – Calorie Tracker (“CalSnap AI,” “the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides calorie tracking, nutrition analysis, meal logging, weight-management tools, barcode scanning, AI-assisted food analysis, and nutrition-related AI chat features.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, the services involved in processing it, and the choices available to users.
By using CalSnap AI, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Firebase user identifier
- Authentication information necessary to operate your account
Passwords are processed by Firebase Authentication and are not directly accessible to us.
### 2.2 Health, Fitness, and Profile Information
When completing onboarding, editing your profile, or using tracking features, you may voluntarily provide:
- Age
- Gender
- Height
- Weight
- Weight-management or fitness goal
- Daily calorie and nutrition targets
- Water-intake information
- Dietary and nutrition preferences
This information is used to calculate and personalize calorie targets, BMI information, nutrition goals, progress reports, and other wellness features.
### 2.3 Meal and Nutrition Information
When you log meals, the App may process and store:
- Food and product names
- Meal types
- Serving information
- Calories
- Protein
- Carbohydrates
- Fat
- Fiber
- Sugar
- Sodium
- Water intake
- Meal timestamps
- Nutrition history and progress information
This information may be stored locally on your device and in your Firebase cloud account to provide synchronization and account recovery.
### 2.4 Food Images
When you use the AI food-scanning feature, you may take a new food photo or select an image using the Android system file picker.
The selected image is transmitted to Google Gemini AI for food identification and nutrition estimation. CalSnap AI does not intentionally store these food images in its own Firebase database.
Google may process or retain submitted content according to its applicable terms, service configuration, and privacy policy. You should not submit images containing faces, documents, financial information, medical records, or other confidential information.
### 2.5 AI Chat Content
When you use the AI nutrition-chat feature, your messages and relevant conversation context are transmitted to Google Gemini AI to generate responses.
Do not submit passwords, financial details, medical records, government identifiers, or other confidential information through the AI chat.
AI responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be treated as medical advice.
### 2.6 Barcode Information
When you scan a barcode, Google ML Kit processes the camera image on your device to detect the barcode.
The detected barcode number may then be transmitted to Open Food Facts to retrieve product and nutrition information. CalSnap AI does not intentionally send your account identity to Open Food Facts as part of a barcode lookup.
### 2.7 Purchase and Subscription Information
If you purchase a subscription, Google Play processes the payment. CalSnap AI does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.
The App may receive and process information such as:
- Product or subscription identifier
- Purchase token
- Subscription status
- Purchase acknowledgement status
- Subscription entitlement
This information is used to activate paid features, verify access, restore purchases, and prevent fraud.
### 2.8 Advertising and Device Information
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Depending on your device settings, consent choices, and applicable law, Google AdMob and its partners may process:
- Advertising ID
- Device or other identifiers
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Ad interactions
- App interactions
- Device information
- Diagnostics and performance information
- Fraud-prevention and security information
Where required, the App requests consent before serving personalized advertising. You may also receive non-personalized or limited ads depending on your consent and device settings.
We do not sell your personal or health information.
### 2.9 Analytics, Diagnostics, and Crash Information
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand App usage, maintain stability, diagnose errors, and improve performance.

We do not intentionally include food images, passwords, or complete meal records in crash reports.

## 5. Android Permissions
### Camera
Used to photograph food for AI nutrition analysis and scan product barcodes. Camera access occurs only when you use a camera-based feature.
### Internet
Used for account authentication, cloud synchronization, AI processing, barcode-product lookup, advertisements, analytics, subscriptions, remote configuration, and other online features.
### Notifications
Used to provide optional meal, water, weight, progress, and service reminders. You can deny or disable this permission without losing the App’s core tracking features.
### Advertising ID
Used by Google AdMob and related services for advertising, measurement, frequency capping, security, and fraud prevention, subject to your consent choices and device settings.
### Gallery Selection
CalSnap AI uses the Android system file picker to let you select a food image. The App does not request broad or continuous access to all photos and videos stored on your device.
## 6. Health and Medical Disclaimer
CalSnap AI is a nutrition and weight-management application intended for general informational and wellness purposes.
CalSnap AI:
- Is not a medical device
- Does not provide medical advice
- Does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition
- Is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
Food recognition, calorie values, nutrient estimates, BMI calculations, AI-generated responses, and recommendations may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions or significant changes to your diet, exercise, medication, or health-management plan. Never disregard professional medical advice because of information provided by the App.
## 7. Advertising and Consent
The free version of the App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Where legally required, including in relevant regions, the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request advertising consent. Your available choices may include personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or limited ads.
You may manage applicable consent choices through the options provided in the App or your device settings.
Health and body information entered into CalSnap AI is not intentionally used by us to personalize advertisements.
## 8. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including:
- HTTPS encryption for data transmitted over supported network connections
- Firebase security and encryption protections
- Private local App storage
- Authentication controls
- Restricted access to account information
No electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## 9. Data Retention
Account and cloud information may be retained while your account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide the App’s services.
Some information may be retained for a limited period when required for:

Third-party providers may retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.
## 10. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion in either of the following ways:
- Open the App and go to Profile → Delete Account
- Email caloriesnapai@gmail.com from your registered email address
Deleting your account initiates the removal of your account information and associated App data controlled by CalSnap AI. Locally stored App information may also be removed by clearing App data or uninstalling the App.
Some limited records may remain temporarily in secure backups or where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
Information processed independently by third-party services is subject to the respective provider’s retention and deletion policies.
## 11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated information
- Request a copy of your information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Manage advertising choices

# 12. Children’s Privacy
CalSnap AI is not intended for children under 13, or below the applicable minimum age required in their country.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate
authorization, contact caloriesnapai@gmail.com, and we will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete the information where required.
Parents and guardians should supervise minors’ use of nutrition and wellness information.
# 13. International Data Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international data transfers.
