This Privacy Policy describes how Mazellan Games (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and deletes information when you use the mobile application Calorie Guess (the “App”), available on Apple App Store and other platforms we may publish on.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Calorie Guess is an educational food and nutrition quiz. It helps you practice estimating calories and protein using USDA-based data bundled in the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not show ads.
We do not use your data for cross-app tracking.
We do not request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, or location.
We do not collect health data from Apple Health or similar services.
A Firebase anonymous account is created automatically so leaderboard and optional cloud features can work. You can delete this account and related cloud data from within the App.
3.1 Information stored only on your device
The following is saved locally on your phone or tablet using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). It is not uploaded to our servers unless stated otherwise in this policy:

You can clear local data by deleting the App from your device. Deleting your cloud account (see Section 7) does not remove local high scores.
3.2 Information sent to our servers
When you are online, the App uses Google Firebase (project: calorieguess) to provide online features. We may store:

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, postal address, precise location, photos, videos, audio recordings, contact list, payment information, or government identifiers.
3.3 Information we do not collect
Apple ID or Google account (we do not offer social sign-in)

Precise or coarse location
HealthKit or medical records
Browsing history outside the App
Advertising identifiers for third-party ad networks
3.4 Analytics
The App does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar marketing analytics SDKs in the client. We log limited gameplay events to our own Firestore database as described in Section 3.2 for product improvement, not for advertising.
We use collected information to:
Operate the global leaderboard and show your rank
Store optional display names and food suggestions you submit
Maintain anonymous accounts and sync online features
Improve gameplay, fix bugs, and plan content (e.g. new foods)
Comply with law and protect the App from abuse
We do not use your information for:
Targeted advertising
Selling or renting data to data brokers
Automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects
Where applicable, we rely on:
Performance of a contract / service: providing the App, leaderboard, and settings you use
Legitimate interests: improving the App and preventing abuse, balanced against your rights
Consent: where required for optional features (e.g. submitting a food suggestion or display name—you provide these voluntarily)
You may withdraw consent for optional features by not using them or by deleting your account.
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only with service providers that help us run the App:

Firebase processes data on Google’s infrastructure. Data may be stored in regions Google selects for the Firebase project.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
The App creates a Firebase anonymous account without a sign-up screen. Apple App Store guidelines require that apps offering account creation allow account deletion.
How to delete your account and cloud data:

What is deleted from our servers:
Your leaderboard entries (all game modes)
Your food suggestions
Your gameplay event logs (metrics) tied to your user ID
Your Firebase Authentication anonymous account
What remains on your device:
Local personal best scores
Local settings (language, sound, portion preference) until you delete the App
After deletion, a new anonymous account may be created if you continue using online features. That new account is not linked to the deleted one.
If deletion fails (e.g. no internet), try again when online or email mazellangames@gmail.com.
Leaderboard scores: kept until you delete your account or we remove them for maintenance or policy violations
Food suggestions: kept until reviewed and processed, or until account deletion
Gameplay events: kept until account deletion or periodic cleanup
Local device data: kept until you delete the App or clear app data
We may retain minimal logs longer where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
We use industry-standard measures through Firebase (encrypted connections, access rules). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Leaderboard and cloud features require an internet connection.
Firestore security rules restrict users to reading public leaderboard data and writing/updating only their own records.
Calorie Guess is a general-audience educational game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact mazellangames@gmail.com and we will delete it.
The App is published globally. If you use it from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where Firebase/Google operates, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Turkey may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact mazellangames@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
Nutrition values in Calorie Guess come from USDA FoodData Central and similar curated sources. Values are approximate and for educational purposes only. The App does not provide medical, dietary, or professional nutrition advice. See the in-app disclaimer in Settings.
Food photos bundled in the App are sourced from Pexels under the Pexels license. USDA food data is public reference data. We do not claim ownership of USDA datasets.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes may be communicated in the App or on our website. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
