# Privacy Policy — Calorie Clash

This Privacy Policy explains how Calorie Clash (“the App”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to this policy.

## 1. Summary
Calorie Clash is a food / calorie guessing game. We collect a small amount of data to run leaderboards, Pro purchases, optional food suggestions, and basic product analytics. We do **not** sell your data, show ads in the App, or use your data for tracking across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

## 2. Information we collect
### 2.1 Account identifier (anonymous)
When you open the App, we create an **anonymous account** through Firebase Authentication. This gives you a unique user ID. You do not need to create a password or provide an email address for this account.
We use this ID for:
- Leaderboard scores
- Game activity metrics
- Food suggestions you submit
- Account / data deletion
### 2.2 Display name
If you set a display name in Settings, we store it and may show it on the public leaderboard (for example as your player label). If you do not set a name, we may show a fallback label derived from part of your anonymous user ID (for example “Player AB12”).
### 2.3 Gameplay / leaderboard data
When you finish a run, we may store:
- Score
- Game mode (for example duel, estimate, macro)
- Category
- Timestamp
Local high scores and some settings (sound, language preference, portion basis, daily challenge progress) are stored **on your device** and are not required for cloud features.
### 2.4 Product analytics
We may log limited gameplay events (for example that a run ended, with mode, category, score, streak, and lives remaining) linked to your anonymous user ID. We use this to understand how the App is used and to improve it. These events are not used for advertising.
### 2.5 Food suggestions
If you submit a food suggestion, we store the text you send (name, optional note, language) together with your anonymous user ID and a timestamp, so we can review and process the suggestion.
### 2.6 Purchases (Pro)
If you buy or restore Pro, purchase status is handled by the App Store / Google Play and by **RevenueCat**, our subscription / entitlement provider. This may involve device and purchase identifiers needed to unlock Pro and restore purchases. We do not receive your full payment card details; payment is processed by Apple or Google.
### 2.7 Device / technical data
Our service providers (including Firebase and RevenueCat) may process technical information such as device identifiers, app version, and standard network information (for example IP address) as part of providing authentication, database, and purchase services.
### 2.8 What we do not collect
We do not ask for or intentionally collect:
- Email address or phone number (for the core anonymous account)
- Precise or coarse location for our own features
- Health / Fitness data from HealthKit or similar
- Contacts, photos, or files from your device
- Advertising identifiers for ads (the App does not include an ad network)

## 3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide App features (leaderboards, suggestions, Pro entitlements)
- Keep your anonymous session working across launches
- Analyze aggregated / product usage to improve the App
- Process account and data deletion requests
- Prevent abuse and keep services secure
We do **not** use this data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking for advertising purposes.

## 4. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the App:

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the App.

## 5. Data stored on your device
Settings, local high scores, daily challenge records, and similar preferences may be stored locally (for example with on-device storage). Uninstalling the App generally removes this local data. Cloud leaderboard / suggestion / metric data may remain until you delete your account data in the App (where available) or contact us.

## 6. Retention
- Leaderboard entries: kept while useful for rankings; updated when you beat your best score for a mode
- Metrics events: retained for product analysis, then deleted or aggregated when no longer needed
- Food suggestions: retained until reviewed / processed or deleted with your account
- Anonymous account: until you delete account data or the account is otherwise removed

## 7. Your choices
Depending on the App version, you may be able to:
- Change or clear your display name in Settings
- Submit or not submit food suggestions
- Delete your cloud account data (leaderboard, suggestions, metrics) from Settings, where offered
- Restore or manage Pro purchases via the store
You can also contact us to request deletion of cloud data associated with your anonymous account where technically feasible.

## 8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

## 9. International processing
Our providers may process data in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your country of residence, subject to applicable safeguards those providers offer.

## 10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.

## 12. Apple App Privacy labels (overview)
For App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels, the App may collect categories such as:
- **Identifiers:** User ID, Device ID
- **Contact Info:** Name (display / player name)
- **Purchases:** Purchase History
- **Usage Data:** Product Interaction
- **User Content:** Other User Content (food suggestions)
These are linked to your anonymous identity for App Functionality and/or Analytics, and are **not** used for tracking as defined by Apple.
