new player

(Posted September 11 2020)

Indoor facilities and CPC have to follow strict COVID Safety Guidelines from AHS. As a result:

  • we have limited indoor venues at which to play (some are not open yet)

  • we have formed CPC cohorts of 30-35 players and they are FULL

  • you will likely have to wait to join a cohort so you may not get play time right away

  • we also have a reduced number of Beginner Introductory Clinics

if you do decide to join, you will get email updates and be first in line when we form new cohorts in January!

Please keep checking “Latest News” on our website for new developments.

These are challenging times and we hope you can understand.

We're excited that you're interested in our favorite sport!

The Calgary Pickleball Club is proud to offer free beginner introductory clinics to all new members.

To access the free clinics, please register as a member of the Calgary Pickleball Club here, then register for the free clinic of interest here. Beginner Introductory clinics are currently scheduled for the times below.

It is suggested that you register for the first available clinic, then go on the Wait List for any earlier but full clinics. Cancellations routinely open up opportunities to learn pickleball sooner.

For more information on the free introductory clinics, please click here.

What Happens After the Clinic

The Mentored Beginner/Novice play sessions at West Hillhurst and JV Centre provide a welcoming, supportive environment for Clinic graduates to continue their skill development. It's extremely important for new players to join in some mentored sessions. These sessions will help get members' play to the level where they can comfortably participate in various sessions and venues around Calgary without feeling out of place.

All Beginner/Novice players are also encouraged to register for lessons offered by our Player Development Program at JV Centre. Click here to see our current offerings.
