Welcome to the Calendar 2025 ("App"), developed by Capital Active ("Company", "Developer Name"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). It also outlines your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. Our goal is to be transparent about our data practices and ensure your privacy is protected.
This Privacy Policy is an integral part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the EULA.
Device Information
What We Collect: We collect device-related data, such as hardware model, operating system version, and system settings. This helps us optimize the App's performance and ensure compatibility with your device.
Network and Internet Access
What We Collect: The App requires internet access to enable certain features, such as cloud synchronization, analytics, and ad display. We may collect information about your network connection type and status to improve these features.
Notification Access
What We Collect: The App may send notifications to your device. We collect data related to notification preferences and delivery to ensure timely and relevant alerts for events.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as contacts, location, or biometric data unless explicitly required for App functionality, and even then, it is handled with strict security measures.
All data related to contacts is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store this data on external servers. Any analytics data collected through third-party services (e.g., Firebase) is anonymized to prevent identification.
We employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption and regular security audits. However, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data but cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Post Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Granting this permission is essential for real-time communication and improving the overall user experience. We use it to show notifications for global and custom events added by the user.
Access Network State (android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) & Internet (android.permission.INTERNET): Used to detect internet connectivity status to optimize background services like Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) or analytics.
Alarm Permissions (android.permission.USE_EXACT_ALARM) and (android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): These are used to schedule precise calendar reminders and alerts, ensuring you receive timely notifications even when the App is not actively running.
Wake Lock (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK): Ensures event reminders complete reliably, even when the device is idle, by preventing the device from entering deep sleep mode during critical operations.
These permissions are requested only when necessary for the App's core functionality, in compliance with Google Play policies on permissions.
Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase to collect unidentified app usage data, such as feature engagement and crash reports, to improve the App's performance. This data does not personally identify you. For more details, see Firebase's privacy policy at <https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy>.
FCM Service: Firebase Cloud Messaging service is implemented for push notifications, allowing us to send timely updates and alerts.
Room: We use RoomDB (androidx.room:room) to store and manage global holiday data locally on your device. This does not store or transmit your data to any third parties.
Lottie: We use Lottie (com.airbnb.android:lottie) to render smooth, high-quality animations in the App. Lottie allows loading JSON-based animation files created in Adobe After Effects, ensuring lightweight and scalable animations that can be easily integrated into the App’s UI.
RoundedImageView: We use RoundedImageView (com.makeramen:roundedimageview) to display images with customizable rounded corners and borders, enhancing UI presentation.
Retrofit: We use Retrofit (com.squareup.retrofit2) for making network requests to APIs. Retrofit simplifies HTTP communication by converting API responses into Java objects and supports both synchronous and asynchronous requests. It helps in efficient data fetching, such as loading content from remote servers, and is commonly used for handling RESTful API interactions within the App.
Kotlin Coroutines: We use Kotlin Coroutines to simplify asynchronous programming in our App, enhancing code readability and maintainability. The kotlinx-coroutines-core library (org.jetbrains.kotlinx:kotlinx-coroutines-core) provides the core coroutine functionality for structured concurrency, while the kotlinx-coroutines-android library (org.jetbrains.kotlinx:kotlinx-coroutines-android) offers Android-specific extensions for managing coroutines on the main thread and handling lifecycle-aware components. Together, they enable smooth background processing, making it easier to perform tasks like network calls, database operations, and UI updates without blocking the main thread.
Global Events: We use Google API Services (com.google.apis:google-api-services-calendar), (com.google.api-client:google-api-client-android), and (com.google.http-client:google-http-client-gson) to integrate Google Calendar API dependencies for fetching and managing global events. These provide Android client and HTTP Gson support for seamless API communication.
WorkManager: WorkManager (androidx.work:work-runtime-ktx) is used for background task scheduling, ensuring reliable execution of deferred tasks.
EventBus: We use EventBus (org.greenrobot:eventbus) for decoupled communication between components such as activities, fragments, and services, making event handling more modular.
Gson: We use Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson) for serializing and deserializing Java/Kotlin objects to and from JSON, primarily for API communication.
All third-party libraries are selected for their compliance with data protection standards and are used only to enhance App functionality without unnecessary data collection.
All Application data is stored locally on your device. If you delete the App, all locally stored data will be deleted from your device. Any data collected by third-party services is subject to their data retention policies.
Third-Party Data: Any data collected by third-party services (e.g., Firebase Analytics) is subject to their respective data retention policies. We do not control these retention periods but ensure that any data we share is anonymized.
NOTE: No In-App Purchases or subscriptions have been added to the App as of now, but we may add them in the future.
If added in the future, the App may offer both subscription-based and in-app purchase options to unlock premium features.
Subscriptions: We may offer multiple subscription plans (e.g., monthly, yearly). Prices would vary by country and be displayed in the App or Google Play Store. Payments would be charged to your Google Pay account upon purchase confirmation. Subscriptions would automatically renew unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Google Pay account would be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period’s end, at the price shown. You could manage or cancel subscriptions via the App’s Account Settings or the Google Play Store. If a free trial is offered and you subscribe before it ends, the unused trial period would be forfeited.
In-App Purchases: Options such as “Remove Ads” or “Premium Lifetime” may be available, with prices varying by country. These would be one-time purchases that unlock specific features permanently.
Payment Security: Payments would be processed by trusted third-party providers like Google Pay, adhering to PCI-DSS standards. We do not store or process your payment card details. For more details, see Google’s Privacy Policy at <https://policies.google.com/privacy>.
The App itself does not use cookies. However, third-party services like Firebase Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies (e.g., device identifiers) to collect anonymized data for analytics.
You can manage cookie settings through your device or browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features, such as personalized ads.
We use third-party services for the following purposes:
Analytics: Firebase Analytics collects anonymized data to help us understand how users interact with the App, enabling us to improve its performance and features.
Payment Processing: If added, Google Play Services would handle all in-app purchases and subscriptions securely.
We ensure that any data shared with third parties is anonymized and complies with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD.
