Last Updated: 28-May-2025
At Calculator Lock - Photo Vault, your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information, and outlines your rights regarding your personal data.
Permissions Required by the App:
1. READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE:
· Purpose:
This permission allows the app to access files stored on the user's device, such as photos, videos, and audio files. It is required for users to select files they want to secure in the vault.
· How it’s Used:
The app only accesses the files explicitly chosen by the user. No other files are scanned, read, or accessed without the user's consent.
2. WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE:
· Purpose:
This permission is necessary to save and modify files on the user's device. It enables the app to securely store the selected files in the vault and retrieve them when required.
· How it’s Used:
Files selected by the user are stored in an encrypted and secure location on the device. When a user restores files, they are written back to their original locations on the device.
3. MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (For Android 11 and above):
· Purpose:
For devices running Android 11 or later, this permission allows the app to manage all files on the device. It is important for organizing and retrieving files, ensuring the app can access files for hiding or un-hiding.
· How it’s Used:
This permission ensures the app can browse through all directories on the device, including those restricted by newer versions of Android, to allow secure file hiding and retrieval.
4. CAMERA:
The app requests access to the device’s camera for the following features:
Photo & Video Capture:
Users can take photos and record videos directly within the app. These media files are stored securely in the app’s private vault and are not shared with any third party.
Intruder Selfie Feature:
When someone enters an incorrect password, the app automatically uses the front camera to capture an intruder selfie. This photo helps identify unauthorized access attempts and is stored privately within the app.
5. USE_FINGERPRINT:
6. POST NOTIFICATIONS:
We use this permission to send you notifications about updates, important messages, or features within the app.
Notifications are sent based on your preferences, and you can manage or disable them through your device settings.
7. WAKE_LOCK:
Purpose:
This permission allows the app to prevent the device from going into sleep mode while certain processes, such as file encryption or decryption, are in progress.
How it’s Used:
The app uses this permission to ensure uninterrupted operations, such as securely hiding or restoring files.
8. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE:
This permission helps the app determine whether an internet connection is available to provide seamless functionality.
The app checks the network status to enable or restrict features that require an active internet connection.
9. Music File:
Our app may access music files stored on your device only for the purpose of hiding or unhiding them within the app. These files remain stored locally on your device and are not uploaded or shared by the app itself.
Users may choose to:
Share their hidden files using third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Gmail)
Delete the files from within the app
Important: Any sharing action is initiated by the user. Our app does not automatically send or transmit any files.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your music files to any external server. All file access remains on the user's device and is under their full control.
10. Voice or Sound Recording:
Our app may request microphone access only when the user chooses to record audio within the app. This feature is optional and used solely for app functionality (e.g., hiding or saving sound files).
We do not upload, share, or store voice recordings on any external server. All recordings remain on the user's device.
9. Device ID Collection and Usage:
Our app collects and utilizes the Google Advertising ID (Device ID) for the following purposes:
Advertising: To display ads tailored to your preferences and interests.
