### 1. Overview & Zero-Data-Collection Commitment
**CalcSpace: Private Workspace** ("CalcSpace", "the App", "we", "our") is an offline everyday calculator and Android Managed Work Profile controller (`com.calcspace.workspace`).
We believe privacy must be enforced by architecture, not just promises:
- **Zero Internet Permission:** The CalcSpace application does **not** request the `android.permission.INTERNET` permission in its Android Manifest. It is technically incapable of establishing network connections or transmitting any data off your device.
- **Zero Data Collection or Sharing:** We do **not** collect, store on external servers, transmit, rent, sell, or share any personal data, usage analytics, crash logs, device identifiers, location data, or contact lists.
- **No Third-Party SDKs or Ads:** CalcSpace contains zero advertising SDKs, zero analytics trackers, and zero third-party telemetry libraries.
- **Cloud Backup Disabled:** CalcSpace explicitly sets `android:allowBackup="false"` in its manifest so your local cryptographic hashes and configuration states are never uploaded to cloud backup services.
### 2. Information Processed & Stored Locally on Your Device
All data created or managed by CalcSpace remains strictly local on your device inside Android's hardware-backed and app-private storage:
1. **Secret Mathematical Formula & Recovery Security Answer:** When you set up your secret mathematical formula (6 to 16 characters) and your security recovery question/answer, CalcSpace salts and hashes them locally on your device using **SHA-256** cryptography. Neither your plaintext formula nor your plaintext answer is stored or transmitted anywhere.
2. **Isolated Work Profile Applications & Media:** When you provision an isolated Android Work Profile (`Managed Profile`), any applications you install inside that workspace, as well as photos, videos, files, or contacts created inside that workspace, are stored locally inside the Android operating system's isolated Work Profile storage partition on your device. CalcSpace never accesses, reads, or transmits your personal files, photos, or contacts.
### 3. Prominent Disclosure of Sensitive Android Permissions
Because CalcSpace functions as an Android Managed Work Profile controller and custom workspace launcher, it requests specific system permissions that are used **100% locally on your device**:
#### A. Device Administrator / Profile Owner (`android.permission.BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN`)
- **Why it is used:** CalcSpace uses Android's `DevicePolicyManager` and Profile Owner APIs (`WorkspaceAdminReceiver`) **exclusively** inside the isolated Android Managed Work Profile to:
1. Provision and enable the isolated work profile upon your explicit consent.
2. Hide (`setApplicationHidden`) and suspend workspace applications when your workspace session is locked so they do not clutter your personal launcher or appear outside the workspace.
3. Reveal workspace applications only while your workspace session is actively unlocked via your secret formula.
4. Lock the workspace session (`<force-lock />` policy only) when you tap **Lock workspace**, leave the workspace, or turn off your device screen.
- **Strict Non-Destructive Guarantee:** CalcSpace requests **only** `<force-lock />` in its device admin policy declaration. CalcSpace **never** wipes your personal device, **never** erases your personal data, and **never** resets or modifies your personal device screen-lock password or PIN.
#### B. Package Visibility (`android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES`)
- **Why it is used:** CalcSpace operates as the dedicated 4×5 app-grid launcher and package-isolation controller inside the Managed Work Profile. It uses `QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES` strictly on-device to discover, display, launch, and verify the hidden/visible state of applications installed inside your isolated work profile.
- **Privacy Guarantee:** Your installed package list is processed solely in local memory on your device and is never transmitted, logged externally, or shared with any party.
#### C. Foreground Service (`android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE` & `FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE`)
- **Why it is used:** Android restricts background broadcast receivers from receiving `Intent.ACTION_SCREEN_OFF`. CalcSpace runs a lightweight foreground guardian service (`WorkspaceAdminService`) solely while your isolated work profile is provisioned so it can immediately detect when your device screen turns off (`ACTION_SCREEN_OFF`) and instantaneously lock the session and conceal all workspace apps.
#### D. Notifications (`android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS`)
- **Why it is used:** Used strictly on Android 13+ (API 33+) to display the mandatory system status notification for the active workspace guardian service inside the work profile.
### 4. Data Retention, User Control & Complete Deletion
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have **100% control** over your data at all times:
- **Resetting Your Secret Formula:** You can reset your secret formula at any time by pressing and holding the **`AC`** button on the calculator keypad for **10 continuous seconds** and answering your local security recovery question.
- **Removing the Isolated Work Profile & Deleting All Workspace Data:** You can permanently delete the isolated work profile and all applications and files inside it at any time through Android System Settings (**Settings → Accounts / Passwords & accounts → Work profile → Remove work profile**) or from the in-app **Settings** screen.
- **Uninstalling CalcSpace:** You can uninstall CalcSpace at any time from your device. Uninstalling the app removes all local app-private preferences and cryptographic hashes immediately.
### 5. Children's Privacy
CalcSpace is a general-audience utility application and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

If we update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or regulatory requirements, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Effective Date" at the top.
