Inspired by ancient withy pots—traditional crab and lobster traps made from willow branches—I created a group of vessels using the twining weaving technique. Woven materials were dipped in slip to form a ceramic shell. In the kiln, the original objects burn away, leaving behind fragile impressions. The nature of this process often causes the forms to collapse, disintegrate, or fail. Some pieces are delicate and chip at the touch, while others remain strong and resilient.
