Caio  Alves

About me

I am Caio Alves, a Brazilian mathematician.

I was a postdoc researching Probability Theory. Up until August 2020, I was in the University of Leipzig under the supervision of Professor Artëm Sapozhnikov. In September 2020 I moved to Budapest to work at the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics under the supervision of Gábor Pete.

Since November 2022, I am a Research Scientist at the Mathematics in Computation section of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory

I did my undergrad, my Masters and my PhD at the Math Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG. My PhD was made under the supervision of Professor Serguei Popov at the Statistics department of Unicamp.

My main research interest is in Percolation Theory, specifically in models with long range correlation such as Random Interlacements, Loop percolation, and the Cylinder Percolation model. I am also interested in Random Graph models, such as the Configuration Model and graphs generated by Preferential Attachment Rules.
