1. Overview & Offline-First Principle

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. CAD Viewer is built with an offline-first architecture.

All CAD drawings, 3D models, and design files (including DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, glTF, GLB, and PLY) are parsed, rendered, and manipulated entirely on your local device. We do not upload, transfer, or store your proprietary CAD files or 3D models on remote cloud servers.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

A. Files and Local Documents (User-Selected Content)

• What We Access: When you use the file picker or open a file into CAD Viewer, the app accesses the specific CAD files you select.

• How It Is Used: Files are loaded solely into your device’s local memory and WebGL rendering engine to display 2D/3D geometry, layers, and measurement metrics.

• Storage & Transmission: Files remain on your device. We do not transmit your CAD designs, blueprints, geometry data, or intellectual property to any external server.

B. Local App Preferences & Cache

• What Is Stored: App settings (such as dark/light theme mode, default measurement units, preferred render wireframe/shading modes) and a list of recently opened file paths/names.

• How It Is Stored: Stored securely in your device's local application sandbox (using local encrypted storage). You can clear your recent files and cache anytime from within the app.

3. Device Permissions

CAD Viewer only requests permissions strictly necessary to provide its core viewing functionality:

• Storage / Document Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / Storage Access Framework): Used strictly to let you select, browse, and open CAD files on your device or SD card.

• Sharing: Used only when you explicitly tap the "Share" action to export or share a file/screenshot through your device's native share dialog.

We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, GPS location, or any files outside of those you choose to open.

4 . Data Retention and Deletion

• Because we do not store your personal data or CAD files on any cloud servers, there is no remote data retention.

• You can remove recent file history and cached files at any time through the app settings, or by clearing the app data in your device's system settings.

• Uninstalling the application removes all application sandbox data and locally stored preferences.
