To all New comers - This Portfolio was last updated 01/06/2021. I have done a lot of work during these 4 years, that include - Packaging Machines (Repak, Variovac), Processing Attachments - Guillotine Cutters, Hinged Cutoffs, Servo Cutoffs, On Belt Cutters, Dripless Valves (non-displacing and High Shear), Rotary valves and many more. You wont see any of that in this portfolio at the moment. But feel free to reach out if you would like to talk about any of them. I am almost always working on custom attachments/machines, providing solutions to customers, one innovation at a time!
My name is Jayant Pohani, I thank you for being here. Scroll down, use tabs in the top right corner to navigate throughout all pages and contact me if you want to see more of it. :)

About me -
I am a graduate student at Northeastern University with major in Mechanical Engineering. I am always zealous about gadgets, machines and their design. I completed my undergrad in 2017 in mechanical engineering from India. During my undergrad degree when I was in a team of 25 members taking part in various competitions like BAJA racing competition and National go cart racing championship, I was the head of brakes and tyres department handling a sub team of 5 members which really tested my leadership skills. I am also the co-founder of first Aeromodelling group of my college, where we taught many students how to craft their own remote-controlled airplane and held competitions. I have 2 years of experience as a CAD designer in a pharmaceutical machine manufacturing industry in India where I designed a 3 head planetary gear set for faster and efficient pick and place mechanism. All the major experiences I have had made me a proficient CAD user and I am thriving to grow in this field due to my interest. I love Robotics, and if you do too - we might be a perfect match!
About to add FEA analysis from Ansys as well as some models from Catia and Creo soon..
BAJA Racing Competition Presentation of our model -
A short flight in IPS Academy Indore, India -
This is the first Physical model which was made by me along with my friend Mubasshir Khan. It has a note on its Rudder - YES IT DOES FLY !!
That was due to the most asked question to us whenever we roam around with this in our college.
The funny part about this model is, IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A PLANE. Our plan was to make a quadcopter and had four motors. One destroyed by me, one experimented by my friend, bummer! All we were left with was 2 motors and hence it was nothing but destiny for this model to be a plane considering our budget.
Doing what we can with our failed plane -
The name of the video clip says it all. After the huge success of our first plane, we decided to make a Pun-Jet type of model which resembles to fighter planes. Yes, this time our focus was on high speed.
Well, it failed. Want to know how? Please open up the video on YouTube and read the description. Believe me - its worth it!
