Kurinjal trek + bagawathi nature camp

A CAC trip to Bagawathi Nature camp has been on our minds since the year 2013. We have been travelling to this camp since 2013, and thereafter during every monsoon season. This place was not much known to tourists and we never disclosed its name on our social media, though we have put lot of pictures of it. It was really hard to get bookings here those days. But now after 11 years, since the booking process is now very easy with the forest department, its getting very popular and we want Coimbatoreans to experience this place before its loses its flavor. We conducted this trip in 2022 and this is going to be the second time.

Bagawathi nature is located inside Kudremuk national park, and we would like to tell you that, this is the only accommodation located inside the national park. All other properties which you might see in Kudremuk are located elsewhere or in the villages located on the boundaries of the National Park. Crystal clear stream beside the camp, local food, comfortable rooms, variety of flaura and fauna, generous hospitality, spooky nights and no mobile network.. these made our experience at this dreamy place so blissful every time. 

Please note:

1) This trip is quite expensive since the accommodation cost at Bagawathi nature camp itself is 2950 per person. And there's a cost of Rs.550 per head for Kurinjal trek.

2) There won't be any network connectivity at the camp. Please inform your family that you will not be reachable for 2 full days.

3) Though its called as a camp, the accommodation will be in wooden cottages & permanent swiss tents with proper attached washrooms. This time we are allotting double sharing rooms (only two in each room)

🚌 Day-1 (Sat - 22 June) 

• 5:50 am > Reach Mangalore Central Railway station.

• We will then proceed to Bagawathi Nature Camp in a Van from Mangalore (2.5 hours)

• After breakfast, our hike to Kurinjal peak begins.

• Return back to Bagawati Nature Camp for a late lunch.

• We'll then explore the campus, transparent streams and go for a small hike.

• Night stay at the cozy cottage right inside the Kudremukh National park

🚌 Day-2 (Sun - 23 June) 

• Short morning hike.

• Checkout from the camp after Lunch.

• Explore waterfalls of Kudremukh region.

• Start to Mangalore in the evening.

• 11:45 pm > Board train to Coimbatore.

🔰 Road travel time: 3 hrs

🔰 Train travel time: 8 hours (over night)

🚌 Day-3 (Mon - 24 June) 

• 07:30 am > Reach Coimbatore.

Basics:

• Total number of slots: 12

• Age group: 18 to 40

•  Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 50% female participants.

• Trek Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

• Trek Duration : 5 hours

• The trek is conducted with permissions from forest department and with a guidance of a local guide.

• No TV/Music at the cottage

• Resort lovers please reconsider. This trip is only for those who wish to be close with nature.

• No customised food options. Be prepared to taste the native dishes of Karnataka.

• All cottages have attached washrooms.

• Strictly no alcohol or smoking at anytime during the trip.

Selection:

• Selection for the trip will be at the complete discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. Please send us the payment only if you get a confirmation from us. We will be keeping 50:50 ratio for repeating participants and new participants. Here are some of our criteria:

  • New participants: 

> Solo participants will get first preference.

> Or if you have a referral from our previous participants.

> Or if you have registered for some other trip with us and didn't get a slot.

• • Repeating participants:

> Preference if you have engaged us in your social media posts/stories

> Or if you have referred us to someone.

> Solo participants will get preference.

• • Couples: Registration always acceptable.

Mobile Connectivity:

• Very little mobile network through Airtel & BSNL.

Stay:

• Comfortable double sharing wooden / swiss tent cottages with attached washrooms.
