September marks the end of the monsoon season, and the valleys in the Western Ghats are filled with lush green flora. We are trekking to the 2nd highest peak of south India (8660 feet), known as Meesapulimala, located in Munnar.

Lush green valleys, charming tea estates, gurgling brooks – peace is easy to find in the idyllic surroundings of Meesapulimala. Located at a significant altitude in the Idukki district of Kerala, it is a trek through eight hills, passing through the shared border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Not just that, this time we are going to stay in the highest hill cottage of Western ghats - The Rhodo Mansion - operated by the Kerala Forest Development Corp. A weekend away from mobiles & minimal electricity, it is sure to bring you the best of experiences and feel on top of the world.

Note: Accommodation in cottages (not tents)

🚐 ITINERARY

Day 1 (13 Sep, Sat)

Coimbatore to Rhodo Mansion

We begin our journey from Coimbatore by 5:30 AM. Breakfast on the way.
Day filled with scenic drive amidst Sandal wood forest, waterfalls visit.
Post Lunch at Munnar, we'll take an offroad jeep ride to Rhodo valley to reach Meesapulimala's Rhodo mansion.
Dinner with Campfire (based on weather) at the Mansion.

Day 2 (14 Sep, Sun)

Trek to the peak

At 7:00 AM, have light breakfast and begin the trek from the Mansion.
Reach the peak by 10:00 AM and return back to mansion for lunch.
Take the jeep to reach back to Munnar and start our return journey to Coimbatore.
Reach Coimbatore by 11:30 pm.

₹7,800 (With Round trip transportation from Coimbatore)

₹6,300 (Without transportation from Coimbatore)

Note:

Participants from Chennai and Bangalore, do contact us for travel plan.
If you are coming by your own transport to Munnar, reporting point would be the Munnar Forest Office, near Munnar Rose Garden (10 mins from Munnar bus stand).

Inclusions:

Accommodation in double/triple sharing rooms.
Transportation from Coimbatore and back.
4 simple meals (Saturday: Lunch & Dinner; Sunday: Breakfast & Lunch).
Jeep ride from Munnar town to Rhodo Valley and back to Munnar town after trek.
Kerala forest dept guide fees.
National Park entrance fee.

Exclusions:

Meals which are not included in inclusions.
Any tips to forest guides/drivers.
Any personal expenses.
Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control.

🚐 GENERAL INFO

Basics:

Total number of slots: 15
Age group: 18 to 35
Gender Ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
Accommodation will be in two/three sharing rooms, separate for boys and girls.
Trek duration: 6 hrs | Difficulty: Medium for regular trekkers, difficult for first time trekkers.
The trek is conducted by the forest department and you will have to abide by the forest department rules.
Resort lovers please reconsider. This trip is only for those who wish to be close with nature.
No customized food option.
Network connectivity is minimal at property.
Strictly no alcohol or smoking at any time during the trip.
Participants will need to carry a small bag during the trek to carry the packed food and other essentials.
Couples are welcome to register. The total number of couples in the trip will be limited to one.
The Organizers hold the right to deal with any kind of misbehavior. The concerned participant can be sent home without any refund.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to local restrictions, and suitable alternative plans will made in such cases.

Selection Process:

Selection for the trip will be at the complete discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. Please send us the payment only if you get a confirmation from us. We will be keeping 50:50 ratio for repeating participants and new participants. Here are some of our criteria:

New participants:

- Solo participants will get first preference.
- Or if you have a referral from our previous participants.
- Or if you have registered for some other trip with us and didn't get a slot.

Repeating participants:

- Preference if you have engaged us in your social media posts/stories.
- Or if you have referred us to someone.
- Solo participants will get preference.

Things to carry:

Trekking Shoes and slippers
Rain Jacket and Umbrella
Reusable water bottle
Mosquito repellant
Sanitizer spray (will help to remove leeches easily)
Toiletry kit (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
Any Govt. issue ID card (preferably Aadhar)

Registration and Payment process:

We will send you confirmation through WhatsApp message.
Payment details will be shared if you are shortlisted for the trip.
Pay ₹4,000 to confirm the trip.
Balance trip cost to be paid in cash during the trip to the trip leader.

Important Note: Registering for the trip via the provided link does not guarantee a slot. Confirmation is subject to the selection process and availability of slots.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation by participant:

- Advance paid during trip confirmation is strictly non-refundable at any circumstances, as we group book the transports, treks and accommodation. Also note that the advance payment will strictly be not transferrable to someone else or to a future trip, in case you are not joining the trip. In case a participant cancels at the last moment (within 48 hours of trip starting time), they will be requested to settle the balance trip cost.

Cancellation due to unforeseen situations beyond our control:

In the event of trip cancellations due to natural calamities or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, political unrest, or government-imposed restrictions)—essentially, any situation beyond CAC’s control—cancellation charges up to ₹500 will be non-refundable. The remaining amount can be fully transferred to rescheduled dates or applied to any other trip of your choice.

Coimbatore Adventure Club reserves the right to remove any participant from the trip at any time if they engage in any illicit or inappropriate behavior. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all travelers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
