Kenya’s natural beauty is truly remarkable. The Maasai Mara, famous for its wide-open savannas and the incredible wildebeest migration, is one of the top safari spots in the world. But Kenya’s beauty doesn’t stop there. From the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya to the warm, sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean, the country has many different landscapes to explore. You can visit the Great Rift Valley, home to amazing wildlife and stunning views.

The culture of Kenya is just as fascinating as its landscapes. The country is home to more than 40 different ethnic groups, each with its own traditions, languages, and ways of life. The Maasai, for example, are famous for their traditional dress, dances, and ceremonies. In coastal areas, the Swahili culture blends African, Arabic, and European influences, creating a rich, unique culture. This mix of traditions makes Kenya a vibrant and exciting place to visit.

Why this itinerary is special for us?

Our team stayed nearly a month exploring the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture of Kenya, with the goal of crafting a truly unique itinerary. We ventured far beyond the well-trodden tourist paths, seeking to uncover the hidden gems that make Kenya a destination unlike any other.

While many believe Kenya isn’t ideal for solo travelers, we discovered a different story. The country brims with opportunities for independent explorers, offering a tapestry of rich cultural experiences, stunning natural beauty, and a sense of adventure that caters perfectly to those traveling alone. Kenya’s welcoming spirit and diverse landscapes make it an ideal playground for solo adventurers.

In our quest to create an unforgettable experience, we carefully selected accommodations that are as unique as the destinations themselves. These stays are more than just places to rest; they are pieces of history, each with its own narrative woven into the fabric of Kenya’s cultural heritage.

Our itinerary is a journey through contrasts and wonders. 🇰🇪 TRIP HIGHLIGHTS:

Naivasha:

Lake Naivasha is located near Hell’s Gate National Park, offering a unique experience where visitors can spot hippos and flamingos up close during a private lake safari. The real highlight of this trip, however, is the accommodation. We will be staying at the Home of Joy Adamson, a place that holds historical significance. Joy Adamson was a renowned conservationist, and her home offers a glimpse into her life and work. The serene atmosphere of Lake Naivasha, combined with the wildlife and the rich history of Adamson’s legacy, makes this a truly unforgettable experience.

Nakuru:

Nakuru is a peaceful and often overlooked destination, which is exactly why we’ve included it in our itinerary. Known for its stunning natural beauty and incredible wildlife, it offers a unique experience away from the usual tourist trail. We’ll be spending a day here, including a game drive through the park.

At Lake Nakuru, you might see flocks of flamingos turning the shoreline pink, and spot endangered rhinos in their natural habitat. It’s an ideal stop for nature lovers and anyone craving something offbeat. With its wide-open landscapes, quiet forests, and rich wildlife, Nakuru gives you the space to slow down, take it all in, and truly connect with nature.

Masai Mara:

Masai Mara, often regarded as the heart of Kenya, offers an unparalleled wildlife experience with its vast savannas, abundant big cats, and the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai people. Our adventure begins as we head into the very core of the national park, where we will be staying in exclusive, premium accommodations designed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

For an entire day, we will immerse ourselves in the Mara’s wild beauty. With the expertise of seasoned naturalists, we will venture on thrilling game drives, exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems and encountering its iconic residents – from the elusive lions and cheetahs to the majestic elephants and giraffes. Each safari will offer a chance to witness nature’s raw drama, while our guides share fascinating insights into the animals’ behaviors and the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

In addition to the wildlife, we’ll have the opportunity to learn about the Maasai tribes, who have lived in harmony with the land for generations. This unique blend of natural wonders and cultural richness promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of Africa.

Nairobi:

Nairobi, the heart of Kenya, pulses with a unique blend of urban energy and cultural heritage. The city offers an array of captivating experiences, such as the Giraffe Centre, where visitors can get up close to the elegant Rothschild giraffes, a rare species that thrives in this sanctuary. Another gem is Mamba Village, a haven for crocodile enthusiasts, where you can witness these ancient reptiles in their natural habitat.

What truly sets Nairobi apart is its vibrant open-air markets, which are alive with color, sound, and the aroma of spices. These markets are a treasure trove of authentic African craftsmanship.

Zanzibar (Tanzania):

Stone Town in Zanzibar is a beautiful and historic city, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is filled with old colonial buildings and stunning Zanzibari doorways, making it a visually captivating place. As you walk through its narrow streets, you’ll be greeted by the scent of the sea and spices, while the sounds of prayer calls echo from the mosques.

For those who love history and culture, Stone Town has a lot to offer. Its buildings and architecture reflect the mix of Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influences, telling the story of Zanzibar's rich past. Every corner of the city is filled with history.

Stone Town is also a great place for activities. You can visit bustling markets filled with the smell of fresh spices, known as Zanzibar’s famous spice trade. These markets are perfect for buying spices and experiencing local life.

DAY-1 (Sat, 18-Oct)

Welcome to Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by afternoon.
Begin the journey with a visit to Mamba Village, home to one of Africa’s largest crocodile farms. Explore the grounds to see crocodiles up close, along with ostriches and tortoises in a peaceful garden setting.
In the evening, browse the bustling Maasai Market for authentic African crafts before returning to your accommodation.

DAY-2 (Sun, 19-Oct)

Nairobi to Naivasha

Set off on a scenic journey through the Rift Valley into the wild landscapes of Hell’s Gate National Park.
Make a pit stop at the Giraffe Centre, where you can hand-feed endangered Rothschild giraffes and learn about their conservation.
By mid-day, you'll step into the story of Born Free, the former home of Joy Adamson, nestled near the tranquil shores of Lake Naivasha. This unique retreat offers a seamless blend of history, nature, and inspiration.
After a lavish lunch, gear up for an adventurous cycling ride through the rugged terrain of Hell’s Gate, known for its dramatic cliffs, gorges, and diverse wildlife.

DAY-3 (Mon, 20-Oct)

Scenic Mornings and Crater Views

At early daybreak, experience the beauty of Lake Naivasha with a peaceful boat tour, where you can spot graceful pelicans and observe the calm presence of hippos.
Next, we proceed to one of the hidden jewels of our itinerary — Nakuru.
We'll head to our accommodation for some rest, as our first game drive awaits the following day.

DAY-4 (Tue, 21-Oct)

Adventure begins at Lake Nakuru

Begin your day with a half-day game drive in Lake Nakuru, home to rhinos, buffalo, impalas, zebras, and the elusive leopard. Look out for the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and other birdlife.
Next, head to the iconic Masai Mara, Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife reserve, where vast savannahs stretch endlessly—and feel the excitement build for the adventures that await in this world-famous safari destination.
Visit a Maasai village to experience their culture, traditions, and vibrant dances, adding a meaningful cultural touch to your safari. Engage with the villagers, learn about their customs, and witness their vibrant dances and crafts—making your day in the Mara both educational and culturally enriching.
As the day winds down, we relax and unwind at one of the most luxurious accommodations nestled in the heart of the park.

DAY-5 (Wed, 22-Oct)

Adventure of a lifetime (MASAI MARA)

Spend an entire day immersed in the heart of the Masai Mara, observing majestic big cats in their natural habitat while exploring the breathtaking landscape alongside an expert naturalist.
Throughout the day, you’ll track lions, cheetahs, and leopards—gaining a deeper understanding of their behavior, hunting patterns, and the delicate ecosystem they inhabit.
This immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to witness wildlife up close while learning about the intricate balance of nature that sustains life in the Mara.
As you journey deeper into the reserve, take in the raw beauty of the African wilderness and watch for unforgettable sightings of the iconic Big Five.

DAY-6 (Thu, 23-Oct)

Next Stop: Zanzibar

After a hearty breakfast, we will bid farewell to the stunning landscapes of the Masai Mara and begin our journey back to Nairobi.
Let’s shift gears today as we catch a flight to our next destination, Zanzibar Island—often called the Spice Island for its rich history in the spice trade.
Optional Add-On (Not Included in Package): Experience a breathtaking sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Masai Mara, offering stunning views of the wildlife and vast savannah.

DAY-7 (Fri, 24-Oct)

We start the day with a short boat ride to Prison Island, a peaceful oasis home to Aldabra giant tortoises and the historic ruins of a former prison.
Next, we head to Nungwi, at Zanzibar’s northern tip, where you can swim with sea turtles in clear, warm waters.
As the day winds down, we relax and unwind at a beach resort, enjoying the beautiful coastal surroundings for the remainder of the day.

DAY-8 (Sat, 25-Oct)

Discover the underwater - Zanzibar Island

We’ll head out on a snorkeling tour near Mnemba Island, where you can swim in crystal-clear waters, explore vibrant coral gardens, and spot a variety of tropical fish and reefs. You might even catch a glimpse of dolphins playing nearby.
After the tour, we’ll visit the famous Rock Restaurant, uniquely perched on a rock in the ocean—an ideal spot for a scenic meal with stunning views.
We’ll end the day with a walking tour of Stone Town to explore the iconic Art Street and enjoying the flavors of authentic Zanzibar Street food.

Note:

Wildlife sightings are subject to nature and cannot be guaranteed, as animals roam freely in their natural habitat.

Basics:

Total number of slots: 14
Age group: 18 to 40
A valid Indian Passport with at-least 6 months validity.
Visa processing for both the countries will be done by CAC.
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to local restrictions, and suitable alternative plans will made in such cases.
All activities are subject to weather and local rules.
Yellow fever vaccination required for your travel to Kenya. We will share a detailed guide on how it can be taken from your nearest vaccination centre.

Who can join:

First preference for solo participants and couples.
Generally, we don't allow group participation in any of our trips. However, you are permitted to bring along one of your friend or a family member with you.

Flights:

We recommend that you book the flights yourself for the best fares.
Flights have to be booked as mentioned below:
- Onwards Flight from India to Kenya: Land in Nairobi anytime before 3pm on 18-Oct-2025
- Return Flight from Zanzibar to India: Flyout from Zanzibar anytime on 26-Oct-2025.
We will try to travel together from India. At the time of trip confirmation, we will let you know which flights needs to be booked, so that the entire team travels together. We can help you if you really need any flight booking assistance.
Please book flights only after you make the advance payment for the trip, and after receiving an acknowledgement from CAC about your slot confirmation.
Airport pickup and drop are included only if you choose our recommended flights or arrive within 1 hour of the suggested flight time in the same airport.

Accommodations:

All accommodations are double / triple sharing.
Accommodation types vary from modern hotels, safari lodges in Kenya, homestays and resorts in Zanzibar.

Food:

Vegetarian food will be hard to find in places like Zanzibar. Hence, vegetarians must carry some ready-to-eat food packets from India, or this trip will be very difficult.
Please note, we will strictly avoid visiting any Indian restaurants, as our schedule requires us to keep moving. We encourage everyone joining us to embrace and enjoy authentic local cuisine.
Some of the places in the itinerary where we will be travelling are very rarely visited by Indians. And chances of Indian food are almost NIL.

Cancellation Policy:

No Refund of the advance paid will be provided as we group book accommodations, local transport & activities much in advance.
If for any reason your visa is rejected by Kenya/Tanzania Immigration, we will provide the complete refund of the trip cost paid by you (except the Visa cost)
Cancellations made within 15 days of the trip require participants to cover 75% of the total trip cost, since most bookings are confirmed and non-refundable by this stage. You will be required to settle the applicable amount. Please note that non-compliance may affect your eligibility for future trips with CAC.

Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.
Flight Tickets: After your advance payment is processed and confirmed by us, you may proceed to book your flight tickets.
