Give yourself a much-needed retreat, as you experience the cool & vibrant streets of Gangtok, listen to the hymn of the monasteries, live at homestays and get to know the lifestyle of locals, experience the urban yet traditional character of Gangtok, exploring its nightlife and shopping streets, and of course, the panoramic perfection of the snow-capped Himalayas right out of your windows.

That’s not all. How about a complete day in Darjeeling — riding the toy train to Ghum, browsing Tibetan markets for souvenirs, savoring momos with hot tea, and ending with a serene visit to a mountain monastery?

⛰️ ITINERARY

Day 1 (29 Oct, Wed)

Arrive at Darjeeling

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) by 1:00 PM.
Begin a scenic drive through misty hills and tea gardens, reaching Darjeeling by nightfall.

Day 2 (30 Oct, Thu)

Darjeeling Diaries

You’ll be staying in an eco-friendly, sustainable homestay in Darjeeling, where every corner reflects a commitment to nature and conscious living.
Hop on the iconic Darjeeling Toy Train—an unmissable ride filled with charm and nostalgia.
Later, explore local markets for Tibetan handicrafts and souvenirs; if time allows, visit a Tibetan monastery to spin the prayer wheels and soak in the mountain vibe.

Day 3 (31 Oct, Fri)

Valleys, Peaks, and City lights

After breakfast, drive towards Gangtok through winding mountain roads, pine-scented valleys, and hillside villages. Stop for lunch en route and arrive in Gangtok by afternoon.
Once in Gangtok, explore MG Road for shopping, sample the city’s unique culinary delights, and enjoy its lively nightlife. You’ll stay at a premium backpackers’ hostel handpicked by CAC, featuring glass-roofed dorms and top-notch cleanliness. The hostel hosts will guide you to the best hidden eateries, ensuring you experience Gangtok’s gastronomic side like a local.
Later, take a cable car ride over the city, with sweeping views of Gangtok below and the surrounding hills and valleys in the distance.

Day 4 (01 Nov, Sat)

Off to Dzongu, Sikkim

Today, we head to Dzongu, a secluded hamlet in Sikkim that feels completely cut off from the world. Untouched by tourists, Dzongu lets you experience nature at its purest and connect with the warm, hospitable Lepcha community.
You’ll be staying at a charming wooden homestay where life is self-sustained, vegetables are grown organically, and every meal is the freshest you’ll ever taste.
Reach Dzongu for lunch, and later, take a short hike to the banks of the Teesta River, soaking in the pristine surroundings and serene village vibe.

Day 5 (02 Nov, Sun)

Leisure Trek at Dzongu

There’s plenty to do in Dzongu. Start the day with a nature walk, visit the local school to chat with the kids, cross some of the scariest bridges you’ve ever seen, explore a monastery and a few chortens, and soak in the village’s lazy, peaceful vibe before returning to the homestay for lunch.
Back at the homestay, try exotic local dishes unique to this region, along with chaang, a local millet beer and fruit and herb wines like mulberry, raspberry, and plum. The Lepchas will welcome you with warmth and quiet pride; their hospitality is so genuine, you’ll never experience it even at the fanciest hotel.
After lunch, journey back to Gangtok through picturesque landscapes, crossing rivers, bridges, and reservoirs that make perfect photo stops.

Day 6 (03 Nov, Mon)

Last day of the trip

It finally comes to an end, and you would have realized your newfound affection - the Northeast. It will be really hard to depart, but we are sure you will be taking the pleasant memories of Northeast and will decide to return sometime during the later part of your life.
By 5am, we will start to Bagdogra Airport.

⛰️ PACKAGE COST

₹28,000 (Without flights to and from Bagdogra)

Inclusions:

Accommodations for all days.
Transportation on all days in a Tempo traveler / SUV.
Meals as mentioned in the above itinerary.
Inner Line Permits (ILP)
All entry tickets for places mentioned in the day wise itinerary.

Exclusions:

Round trip flight tickets to Bagdogra
- From/to Bangalore: ₹14,000
- From/to Coimbatore: ₹22,000
- From/to Chennai: ₹15,000
Meals which are not included in the day wise itinerary.
Any tips to forest guides/drivers.
Any personal transport expenses for places not mentioned in itinerary.
Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control. If flights get cancelled due to weather, we will arrange alternative stay at minimal cost.
Possible additional expenses during the trip: ₹3,000 in total for all meals which are not included in the itinerary (Basic local food).

⛰️ GENERAL INFO

Basics:

Total number of slots: 12
Age group: 12 to 40
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
Accommodation will be separate for boys and girls.
There are no major treks in this trip. Only short hikes and nature walks, which can be done by everyone.
Couples are welcome to register. The total number of couples in the trip will be limited to one.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to local restrictions, and suitable alternative plans will made in such cases.
All activities are subject to weather and local rules.

Who can join:

First preference for solo participants and couples.
Generally, we don't allow group participation in any of our trips. However, you are permitted to bring along one of your friends or a family member with you.
Selection for the trip will be at the complete discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. Please send us the payment only if you get a confirmation from us. We will be keeping 50:50 ratio for repeating participants and new participants.

Flights:

We recommend that you book the flights yourself for the best fares.
Flights have to be booked as mentioned below:
- Onwards Flight: Land in Bagdogra any time before 01:00 PM on 29-Oct-2025
- Return Flight: Flyout from Bagdogra after 01:30 PM on 03-Nov-2025.
At the time of trip confirmation, we will let you know which flights needs to be booked, so that the entire team travels together. We can help you if you really need any flight booking assistance.
Please book flights only after you make the advance payment for the trip, and after receiving an acknowledgement from CAC about your slot confirmation.
Incase you arrive very early than the prescribed time, you will have to wait till everyone arrives.

Accommodations:

All accommodations will be separate for male and female participants.
Accommodations are double/triple/Quad sharing in Darjeeling & Dzongu.
We will be staying in a premium backpacker's hostel in Sikkim, in bunk beds. In case you require a private room accommodation, it can be arranged with an additional cost, if informed at the time of registration.
Clean and specialty accommodations are carefully picked by CAC during our extensive travel in the northeast.

Mobile Connectivity:

There will be network connectivity on all days of the trip (Airtel & Jio), expect Dzongu where it will be minimum.

Payment details:

Confirm your spot with an initial payment of ₹10,000 and it is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation by participant:

- Advance paid during trip confirmation is strictly non-refundable at any circumstances, as we group book the transports, accommodations and activities. Also note that the advance payment will strictly be not transferrable to someone else or to a future trip, in case you are not joining the trip.
- Cancellations made within 15 days of the trip require participants to cover 75% of the total trip cost, since most bookings are confirmed and non-refundable by this stage. You will be required to settle the applicable amount. Please note that non-compliance may affect your eligibility for future trips with CAC

Cancellation due to unforeseen situations beyond our control:

In the event of trip cancellations due to natural calamities or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, political unrest, or government-imposed restrictions)—essentially, any situation beyond CAC’s control—cancellation charges up to ₹2000 will be non-refundable. The remaining amount can be fully transferred to rescheduled dates or applied to any other trip of your choice.

Invitation and Selection Process: Once you register, shortlisted participants will receive an official invitation to join the trip along with details for making the advance payment. Please note that the selection process is solely at the discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. If all slots are filled, we will notify you and place you on a waitlist.
Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.
Flight Tickets: After your advance payment is processed and confirmed by us, you may proceed to book your flight tickets.
