Ready for an unforgettable mountain adventure? Join us for the Banasura Peak Trek in Kerala, one of the most scenic treks in Wayanad. This trek takes you through thick forests, knee-high rolling grasslands, and hidden wild mountain paths of the Western Ghats.

As you climb higher, the views open up to endless green valleys and clouds drifting across the hills. The final stretch rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views from the summit of Kerala’s second-highest peak.

📋ITINERARY

🌳 Day-1 (Saturday, 06 June)

Journey to Wayanad

02:30 PM: The entire group assembles at Coimbatore Railway Station
02:55 PM: We will travel by CBE HSR AC Express (Train No. 22476) from Coimbatore towards Kozhikode.
06:20 PM: Arrive at Kozhikode railway station and proceed towards Wayanad with dinner en route.
10:30 PM: Reach the resort in Wayanad.

🌳 Day-2 (Sunday, 07 June)

Wayanad Peak Trek & Campfire Night

After an early breakfast, proceed to the trek base point.
Begin the trek towards Banasura Peak.
Relax and enjoy the view at the peak and have your packed lunch.
Trek back to the base point and travel to the stay, followed by dinner and a campfire.

The Banasura trek begins inside a dense forest and continues through steep rocky terrain, open grasslands, and a few ridge walks, ending at the peak with panoramic views of a breathtaking landscape consisting of green hills, a blue reservoir, and a cloudy sky.

🌳 Day-3 (Monday, 08 June)

Nature Walk, Lavish Lunch & Departure

Trek to Mylattumala sunrise point.
Return back and have breakfast.
Check out and enjoy a authentic kerala lunch at Wayanad's 1980 Restaurant.
Post lunch start towards Kozhikode railway station.
07:30 PM - Board the YESVANTPUR Express (Train No. 16528) from Kozhikode towards Coimbatore Junction.
Arrive at Coimbatore Junction by 11:30 PM.

3AC Train ticket from Kozhikode to Coimbatore.
Local transportations.
Meals - Breakfast.

Meals - Lunch and Dinner.

Days 1&2 - Accommodation | Oxyfarm Resort, Wayanad

Participants joining from Coimbatore:

Trip Cost - ₹8,700

Participants Joining in Kozhikode:

Trip Cost - ₹7,250

Note: For participants from Coimbatore, if you prefer to change to 2AC Sleeper coach, there will be an additional cost of ₹480 to the above trip cost. You can let us know while registering for the trip or before making advance payment.

Inclusions:

✔️ Accommodation for 2 nights in Oxy Farm resort (₹2,600).

✔️ Transport,

Train tickets -3AC Sleeper (₹1,450).
Local transport in Kerala for 3 days (₹1,500).

✔️ Meals - All meals mentioned in the day wise itinerary (Average ₹250 per meal - 4 meals included).

✔️ Trekking - Kerala Forest department's trek fees (₹800).

✔️ Local guide fee (₹100).

✔️ CAC trip leader expenses & fee (₹500).

✔️ CAC operational fee (₹800).

Exclusions:

❌ Transport - Bus/Train/Flight ticket for onwards and return journey bookings to be taken care by themselves if participants are not joining from Coimbatore.

❌ Meals which are not mentioned in inclusions.

❌ Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control.

IMPORTANT NOTE

- Any future increase in the trek fee by the Kerala forest department will be collected from the participant. Currently it is ₹800 per head, and we have included this amount in the trip cost. We will keep the prices transparent and will share the latest prices listed on government websites if there is an increase. Kerala Forest Department is revamping its treks, and we foresee a increase in trek costs, all over Kerala.
- Any drastic increase in fuel prices due to war / economic instability may increase the transport cost. The additional transport expenses arising due to such instances will be collected as surcharge from the participants. This is applicable only if Diesel prices go above Rs.100.
- We do not foresee any train price hikes.

📝GENERAL INFO

➡️ Basics:

Total number of slots: 13.
Age group: 18 to 40.
Gender ratio: To encourage female travellers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
Strictly no alcohol or smoking at anytime during the trip.
First preference for solo participants and couples are welcome to register. The total number of couples in the trip will be limited to one.
Generally, we don't allow group participation in any of our trips. However, you are permitted to bring along one of your friends or a family member with you.
Group registrations of more than 3 persons will most likely get rejected.
Mobile Connectivity: Very limited mobile connectivity during the trek. However accommodation has good connectivity.
Weather: Temperatures between 17°C - 25°C.
The trek is conducted with permission from the Forest Department and under the guidance of a local guide.

➡️ Accommodation:

- Accommodation will be in a resort with Double/Triple occupancy.
- Separate double rooms for couples can be arranged at an extra cost which is subject to availability and only if requested in advance. Please contact us for details.
- Hot water facility will be available at the accommodations, however expect power failures in forest regions during monsoons, that can interrupt hot water access.
- Please note that customized food options will not be available. However, you’ll get to experience authentic local cuisine, so we encourage you to enjoy the local flavors of Kerala during the trip.

➡️ Transport:

All train tickets will be booked by CAC for participants joining from Coimbatore.
Local transportation will be by Tempo travellers .
Participants joining and departing from Kozhikode on their own are requested to arrange their travel accordingly and keep at least a 2-hour buffer in your transit times, to avoid any unforeseen delays.

➡️ Things to carry:

Mandatory - Any Govt. issued ID card (preferably Aadhar),
Trekking Shoes and slippers,
Rain Jacket (mandatory, unless you want to enjoy the monsoons),
Umbrella (helpful when you walk around the resort),
Cap and sunscreen to protect yourself from sun,
Any energy snack and reusable water bottle,
Mosquito repellent,
Sanitizer spray (it will help to remove leeches easily),
Toiletries.

➡️ Trek details:

Trek Difficulty: Moderate for regular trekkers and difficult for first timers.
Trek Distance: 18 km to be covered in 10 hours (complete trek distance).
Note: Banasura peak, receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, and the government may occasionally impose restrictions on certain activities. Such situations are beyond our control. In such cases, we may either reschedule the trip or continue as planned and arrange alternative activities.

Selection for the trip will be at the complete discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. Please send us the payment only if you get a confirmation from us. We will be keeping 50:50 ratio for repeating participants and new participants. Here are some of our criteria:

New participants:
- Solo participants will get first preference.
- Or if you have a referral from our previous participants.
- Or if you have registered for some other trip with us and didn't get a slot.
Repeating participants:
- Preference will be given if you have engaged us in your social media posts/stories.
- Or if you have referred us to someone.

Invitation and Selection Process: Once registered, shortlisted participants will receive an official invitation to join the trip along with details for making the advance payment.

Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.

The selection process is solely at the discretion of the Coimbatore Adventure Club. If all slots are filled, we will notify you and place you on a waitlist.

➡️ Payment process:

Confirm your spot with an initial payment of ₹4,000 and it is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Option to pay advance amount through credit cards / wallets are also possible. Do request us at the time of payment.
Balance payment to be settled 30 days before the trip. Otherwise the balance payment has to be brought as cash during the trip.
Payment details will be shared if you are shortlisted for the trip.

➡️ Cancellation Policy:

1) Cancellation by participant:

Advance paid during trip confirmation is strictly non-refundable at any circumstances, as we group book the trains/vans, and accommodation. Also note that the advance payment will strictly be not transferrable to someone else or to a future trip, in case you are not joining the trip. In case a participant cancels at the last moment (within 48 hours of trip starting time), they will be requested to settle at least 75% of the total trip cost.

2) Cancellation due to unforeseen situations beyond our control:

In the event of trip cancellations due to natural calamities or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, floods, political unrest, or government-imposed restrictions)—essentially, any situation beyond CAC’s control—train/bus cancellation charges of ₹1,000 will be non-refundable. The remaining amount can be fully transferred to rescheduled dates or applied to any other trip of your choice.

Important Notice:

Coimbatore Adventure Club reserves the right to remove any participant from the trip at any time if they engage in any illicit or inappropriate behavior. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all travelers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
In case of misbehavior, the concerned participant can be sent home without any refund.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to weather, local restrictions or any unforeseen circumstances. Suitable alternative plans will be made in such cases.
