1. King Charles III and environmentalism

King Charles has spent the last 50-odd years speaking out about climate change, pollution and deforestation. Much has been made of the new king’s penchant for organic farming and his outspoken support for climate action. At the United Nations climate conference in Glasgow, he urged the assembled world leaders to adopt a “warlike footing” to address the rapidly warming planet.

Some months before his accession to the throne he gave an interview where he discussed his environmental awareness and activism over the years.

The question is whether now, as king, Charles will continue to be a voice on the climate and environment. He has said that in his new position, he won’t be able to be a public advocate as he has in the past. “It will no longer be possible for me to give so much of my time and energies to the charities and issues for which I care so deeply,” he said in a televised address. And as king, he will have precious little input into the working of the British government.

However, the charity he set up as Prince of Wales, The Prince's Trust, may be able to continue his work without his direct involvement. At the moment, they are hiring 4 staff members to work in their headquarters in London. You and your team partners feel that it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity you simply cannot miss and want to apply for the positions.

Candidates are required to pass a series of tests to be deemed "eligible". You can find them on the left-hand side of this website. Solve all the challenges posed and submit your answers every time you solve one of them to make sure The Prince's Trust is registering your interest in the job. At the end of every challenge, you will be provided with a password. Please write all the passwords on the handout so that you can submit the whole passcode at the end of the selection process.
