If you want a rugged, travel-ready solution with a built-in carrying case for your child's adventures, choose Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type; if you need a lightweight, tangle-free headset focused on classroom use and simple in-line control, choose Cowyawn USB Type C.
• Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type: Its standout strength is the inclusion of a dedicated carrying case and a slightly lighter overall profile (140g), making it ideal for packing; its trade-off is the lack of an in-line microphone or volume buttons on the cord itself.
• Cowyawn USB Type C: It shines with a tangle-free cord design and convenient in-line controls that let kids adjust settings without reaching for their device; however, it lacks a protective case and feels marginally heavier due to the included accessories.
• Who it's for: Bywulanda fits families who travel frequently or need durable storage, while Cowyawn suits students who prioritize ease of use and cable management in school settings.
The Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type C Kids Headphone is engineered specifically for young users who need protection and portability. The most significant feature here is the inclusion of a hard-shell carrying case made from plastic and faux leather. This isn't just a nice-to-have accessory; it transforms the headphones from a loose item into a travel-ready kit. When you are dealing with a child who might toss items into a backpack or suitcase, having a dedicated box ensures the 40-millimeter dynamic drivers stay safe from damage during transit.
In terms of audio performance, this model delivers HD stereo sound with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which covers the full spectrum needed for music, movies, and educational content. The 94dB volume limit is a critical safety feature for parents, ensuring that the listening experience remains within a safe decibel level regardless of the source device. The ear pads are rounded and made from soft faux leather, providing comfort for long study sessions or video game marathons. The on-ear design keeps the unit secure without the bulk of over-ear models, and the foldable structure allows it to shrink down further when placed inside the provided case.

However, this product has specific limitations that potential buyers must consider. While the headphone jack features a built-in mic, the control method relies on physical buttons on the device rather than an in-line controller on the wire. There is no touch control on the ear cup itself, meaning adjustments must be made directly on the headphone body. If your child prefers managing volume or pausing tracks via a remote on the cord, this design might feel less intuitive compared to other options. Additionally, the weight is listed at 140 grams, which is light but not the absolute lightest option available if you are strictly prioritizing minimalism. This model is best suited for parents who value organization and durability over on-the-fly cord controls.
The Cowyawn USB Type C Kid Headphone takes a different approach, focusing heavily on the user experience of the cord and the immediate handling of the device. Its defining characteristic is the "tangle-free" cord design. For kids who carry these headphones in a pocket or bag alongside other electronics, preventing knots is a massive daily convenience. The manufacturer has clearly designed this unit to withstand the chaotic nature of a school day where cables often get knotted around books or pencils. The weight is listed as 5.9 ounces, which converts to roughly 167 grams, making it slightly heavier than the Bywulanda, but the distribution of that weight feels balanced for active movement.
Audio fidelity is consistent with the industry standard for this category, featuring 40-millimeter dynamic drivers and a sensitivity of 94 dB. Like its competitor, it adheres to the 94dB volume limit, protecting hearing health while delivering clear sound across the 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz range. The enclosure uses similar materials—faux leather and plastic—with circular earpiece shapes that sit comfortably on the ear. A key differentiator here is the in-line control system. The cowyawn model includes a built-in microphone and volume control right on the cord. This means a student can mute themselves during a class discussion or lower the volume instantly without fumbling with the headphone cup itself.
The trade-offs for this design involve storage and bulk. Unlike the Bywulanda, the Cowyawn does not come with a rigid carrying case. The packaging is described as a box or envelope with protective materials, which suggests the headphones will need to be stored carefully in a separate pouch or bag to avoid damage. The weight of the carrying case is noted separately as 5 ounces, implying that if a user purchases a third-party case, they add significant bulk to the total load. This model is perfect for a student who leaves headphones in a backpack all day and needs the cord to remain accessible and untangled, but it may require more care regarding storage than the Bywulanda option.
• Best for travel and storage → Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type (Includes a dedicated plastic and faux leather carrying case).
• Best for cable management → Cowyawn USB Type C (Features a specialized tangle-free cord design).
• Best for in-line control → Cowyawn USB Type C (Offers volume and microphone controls directly on the wire).
• Lightest overall package → Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type (Weighs 140g compared to the Cowyawn's ~167g).
• Best for classroom safety → Both (Both strictly adhere to the 94dB volume limit for hearing protection).
• Best for durability during transport → Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type (Rigid case protects the 40mm drivers better than a loose setup).
• Best for quick adjustments → Cowyawn USB Type C (Touch and button controls on the cord allow instant changes).
• Best warranty coverage → Both (Both brands offer a 2-year warranty on their respective units).
After weighing the specifications and real-world utility of both devices, I would buy the Bywulanda Upgrade USB Type for my own family. The inclusion of the carrying case is a non-negotiable feature for me because children inevitably lose things or break them when they aren't properly contained. While the Cowyawn's tangle-free cord is excellent, I prefer the peace of mind that comes with a hard shell protecting the delicate 40mm drivers. The Bywulanda feels more like a complete travel system, which aligns perfectly with my need for the best headphone for flights or long car rides where space and protection matter most. If you are looking for a wireless headset for flights, neither offers wireless capability, but for wired reliability, the Bywulanda's portability wins out.
Neither the Bywulanda nor the Cowyawn model lists an IPX rating or any waterproofing specifications in their data sheets. They are designed for indoor use, such as schools or homes, and should be kept away from water to prevent damage.
Yes, both headphones utilize a USB-C connection, which is compatible with modern tablets, Chromebooks, and Android devices that feature a USB-C port. They do not include a 3.5mm adapter in the standard package, so check your device's port type first.
Both models are limited to 94dB, which is the same safety threshold. However, the Cowyawn's in-line volume control might make it easier to keep the volume consistently low during use, whereas the Bywulanda requires adjusting the source device or the buttons on the cup.
Since both products are wired headphones with USB connectivity, they draw power directly from the host device and do not have internal batteries. Battery life is determined entirely by the tablet or phone they are plugged into, not the headphones themselves.
