University of Hawaii at Manoa
UHERO Senior Research Fellow and Professor Emeritus of Economics
I specialize in open-economy macroeconomics, studying the relationships between the U.S., Hawaii, and Asian economies, and how these economies are affected by innovation, macroeconomic change, and public policy responses.
With UHERO, I prepare forecasts and policy analysis for the economy of Hawai'i. My broader research interests include macroeconomic policy evaluation, forecasting, global value chain production arrangements, demographic change, and patterns of international trade and finance.
