With such a mild winter was great to enjoy an early ice out. After a trip into Opeongo L last year to explore some potential remains (unsuccessfully), I later found out I paddled right past the cottage ruins, so tied this in with a day trip exploring other remains and knocking off a couple more official hiking trails off my list. Followed up with a quick overnight out of Achray area.

Sawmill Remains, Highway 60

Based on some bottles found believe this to be in use until mid 1970s. This was an interesting bushwhack - Brush was so thick on the way in I couldn't see more than a couple feet ahead, where thankfully that I found a much less dense route back...

Peck Lake Trail

High Falls Cheater / Eastern Pines Trails

Only remains I could locate near Stratton L campsites near High Falls

Only potential 'remains' ('remains' verbiage being a stretch) I could locater near Bucholtz L

Tires remains near High Falls Cheater Trail, unfortunately couldn't locate anything else nearby

Wildlife along the way

This trip got to see quite a bit of wildlife including moose, turkeys, vultures, mallard, martins, snakes - However unfortunately I was only fast enough with the camera to capture these guys...:-(
