Boston University Underrepresented Graduate Student Organization

Mission

The Underrepresented Graduate Student Organization (UGSO) at Boston University strives to create a community to promote and support underrepresented students (URS) academically and professionally as they pursue post-baccalaureate education. Through professional development events, socials, mentoring, and outreach, UGSO fosters interaction across disciplines and provides resources to address challenges facing URSs at academic, professional, and personal levels.

Membership

UGSO membership includes all URS (those who identify as Black, Latinx, or Native American) who are enrolled in graduate and professional programs at Boston University. We additionally extend membership to graduate students who identify as racially or ethnically underrepresented within their departments or colleges, no matter their racial or ethnic background. Our events are open to all individuals who support our mission.
